Great Strategy

Disgaea 3 is a game with a great story, good characters, and everything else you would expect from a Disgaea game, but pretty much the same story with new characters, and the storyline tweeked a bit. But don't let that fool you, this game will suck up very many hours of your life, but what else is it for? The story has multiple endings, I just recently got an ending including Laharl, Flonne, and Etna =). Proof that this game does suck up hours of your life is that I'm 34 hours into it and I'm level 102... out of 9999 on just one character. In all a great story, but I'm still waiting for online multiplayer matches. So all-in-all, a great game but a bit of problems. I don't care, it's my favorite yet.

Best Rpg i played thus far!

First of all, Atlus makes the best rpgs of all time, this does not fail me. I love how they make fun of the new pop games and shows like dbz, and power rangers its a fun game.the gameplay takes you back to the golden age of gaming. The humor is dark and funny as hell, the combos are ultra strong, and the main character is a certified bad ass!

Well this is unexpected

I won this in a contest, and now I am glad I did. I keep on wanting to play it, and it never gets old. Before battles, you can buy skills, evil abilities, weapons, armors, and manage a classroom with clubs. I could spend hours doing just this, but then the battles are even better. They use a lot of strategy, and using computer characters will serve to a point, but you have to start making characters. Every battle is fun, and even when you go back to it and play again, its different. With these story missions, there is the item world, where you can make items better by traveling inside them and battling levels to unlock special powers. This game is well worth $60, and is addicting from start to finish. Go out and get it, even if, like me, you aren't an RPG fan. It's just plain fun.

More of the same, but that's not a bad thing.

Not a whole lot to say about this game. If you're a fan, then you know what to expect, and you pretty much are getting what you asked for. This is definitely one of the better Strategy RPGs around, and fans of the wacky characters and humorous dialogue of the Disgea series will definitely be happy with this game.

You'll obviously spend a lot of hours on this game as you level up your characters to be as strong as the possibly can be to get through the game's quest. This is nothing new to fans of this genre, but newcomers coming in to see what it all about may find level grinding a chore. Nothing can be more off-putting than going into the next story sequence completely overmatched because your characters are too low level to move on. However, most people that get this kind of game know what is ahead, so this is the least of any problems.

Although graphics aren't everything, I can't help but feel a little let down on the visual side of this game. Of course, games of this type aren't expected to be graphics powerhouses, but it would have been nice to see a little more effort here. Sprites are okay to look at for the most part, but get very blurry during closeups. This wouldn't mean to much for me if it was on say the PSP or PS2. But when I'm playing this game on Blu-ray disc, on the same console that gives me games like Ratchet and Clank Future and Uncharted, is it too much to expect clean, hi-def game sprites?

Overall though, you get what you pay for. The game has a descent price, although it could easily have been 10 bucks cheaper. But there is a lot of gameplay to be had here if you're interested which makes it more than worth the price of the admission. Fans will definitely find a lot to love here. Newbies should research first and make an educated choice.

Okay, so stop me if you've heard this one before: the young and arrogant Prince of the Netherworld is on a quest to make a name for himself and claim the title of Overlord from his father by any means necessary. Sound familiar?
