Siren: Blood Curse - PS3

Intense action
Tight controls
Awesome audio
BEST horror game EVER!

Story: Its story follows similarly to the original Siren game made for the PS2, but it has different characters and several elements of the story have changed. I absolutely love how each section is separated into episodes and that the gaming company went as far as to put "Next on" and "Previously" scenes at the beginnings and ends of every episode. Those are very creepy and build tension, also making it feel like you're in a part of the world's best horror show. In all honesty, it reminds me a lot of the show "Lost" due to hardly making any sense at all, and focusing specifically on a couple of characters per episode. Despite not making much sense, this game has logic in it somewhere; just need to think long and hard on it to find out where it is.

Horror: THIS is survival/horror! My heart pumping as I knocked crap over while hurrying to find a hiding spot, running away every time I was spotted, randomly swinging the melee weapons because I had no idea where the hell the enemies were in the dark...BEST horror game EVER! :excited: Oh, and the enemies never die so you have to worry about them getting back up after a couple of minutes. x3

Graphics: This game is made solely for the PS3...and the opening scene is shot in live-action. Can't get any more realistic than that. LOL. But yeah, I've seen the uncut version on Youtube while waiting for it to download; the Graphics are pretty cool. Nowhere near as good as Dead Space's was, but still pretty damn awesome.

Replay Value: I haven't beaten the game yet...and I'm eager to replay it from the beginning. xD Is that good enough for ya? So yeah, Replay value is excellent.

Difficulty: Even on easy, this game can be frustratingly difficult. I died like 9 times and I've only managed to make it to Episode 7 so far. Puzzles are also pretty difficult to follow as I've spent about an hour running around, trying to figure out what to do next or how to get past an enemy without a weapon to grab the key it won't take its eyes off of and leave before it knew I was even there (I eventually found a weapon, smoke-screened it with a flare, and then beat the shit out of it while it was blind. LOL.) Yet it can also be incredible easy at other times. However, the difficulty only makes the game frustrating at times; it doesn't lessen the fear at all from what I can tell.

Overall: Sometimes frustratingly difficult but an overall fun and very scary game, Siren: Blood Curse retells the story of a once abandoned village suddenly overrun by unkillable zombies and the 7 people who fight to survive, find out what the hell's going on, and maybe escape...if they can. It's got decent graphics and excellent replay value in hopes that you'll play it through over and over again for more survival, horror, confusion, epic cliffhanger episode endings, and maybe find out a little bit more about the characters and weapons through the archives. It takes a long time to download and it's cut off for some scenes, but the gameplay and fear is worth it.
