Summary
Game Description
FaceBreaker is an exaggerated, over-the-top boxer that harkens back to games such as Nintendo's Punch-Out!. In FaceBreaker, players pummel each other senseless in button-mashing brawls that can be ended with a powerful FaceBreaker attack. Boxers such as the fat ninja Steve can perform a host of wacky attacks, such as a kick to the groin or a double-fisted thunderclap to the ears that stuns an opponent for a few seconds. For those looking for an authentic boxing experience, FaceBreaker is most certainly not it. However, its interesting trophy system (you win your opponent's busted mugs as an award) and goofy roster should provide some giggles.

This game really really sucks. I purchased this thinking this was going to be like ready to rumble NOT EVEN CLOSE. THis game really blows. I begged my local video game store to let me return this thank the lord they are kind and humane and understood how terrible this game is. The most simplistic fighting mechanics shoddy game play, weak story. ok graphics nothing that is worthy of a rental let alone a purchase. Don't say you weren't warned. don't even want to give this game one star but thats the lowest allowed.

FaceBreaker
I really wanted to like Facebreaker for one reason: it's a boxing game with over-the-top characters, crazy moves and fast-paced action. That sounds like the recipe for a next-gen update to the classic NES game, Mike Tyson's Punchout, which is something I've been dreaming of for a long time. But while Facebreaker has certain qualities that reminded me of Punchout, it just can't go toe to toe with Little Mac when it comes to fun. With control issues, a core gameplay experience that's uneven and flawed, and computer A.I. that doesn't always fight fair, Facebreaker is a passable boxing game that will probably only appeal to gamers who already have an affinity for boxing. In other words, Facebreaker was a potential heavyweight that went down in the early rounds.
BOTTOM LINE: It's fun for a few quick rounds but it lacks the staying power to go the distance.
