Could be better...

Pros Cons
Amazing visuals Not enough content

I heard about this title, and I was pumped! It looked so fun! When I got it however... it was good, don't get me wrong. It was fun I acutally cared what happenend to Nathan Drake, it was so immeresive that I could barely put it down.

But it's biggest flaws are: It's already been done by tomb raider which ( in my opinion) Invented the genre. its short, REALLY short! by the time I got to chapter 19, my save data said I was 88% done!

In the end (SPOILER!!!) the feel shifts from tomb raider platforming, and intense shootouts, (that felt suspiciously like Gears of war shootouts) to something like resident evil 4, and it's not even in the horror genre! anyway I put it down cause I didn't like scary stuff (back then) and did something else.

But overall, I liked it, it's good where it set up shop. (It can curb stomp tomb raider anytime!) but it wasn't what ps3 owners were expecting from such a prestigious company (naughty dog) so it was fun but I advise this one as a rental.

A review of few words.

Pros Cons
Addictive gameplay

Buy this game. Now.

OK, enough joking. Seriously, this game shows off the PS3's potential and is almost flawless. The difficulty spikes in some areas, but it's never enough to make you give up on the game. Graphically it looks great, the sound's fantastic, the story is captivating, and there are plenty of reasons to go back and play again (for the sake of finding extra treasures, getting unlimited ammo, etc). Here's hoping for a sequel!

I loved playing this game! I thought the graphics were amazing! I did however find some of the AI gun battles to be very hard, i think the game itself is great, i hope there is a sequel, but i cannot imagine this game getting any better!

Uncharted is far from original, but that doesn't say much.

Pros Cons
Innovative concepts Not enough content
Tight controls
Amazing visuals

Uncharted is not the most original game on the market right now.
Its crystal clear that much of it was inspired from games such as Gears of War and Tomb Rider, and even the storyline looks like a huge cliche from the big 'Movies Cliche Book', but that doesn't mean that Uncharted is not a good game. And even if its not that original, the simple fact that its the first game to combine Third Person shooter 'Geow' with quality platforming from a game like 'Tomb Rider', really does mange to bring some new stuff to the table and even create a whole new genre. Get ready to solve some puzzles, shoot some bad-guys and ugly mutants, and jump your way to wealth as you search for the lost Spanish treasure.

Storyline:
Instead of reading about the story you can just go and watch one of those adventure movies with the bad guy, the good cool guy, the pretty girl and the lost treasure. Still, there are some things worth mentioning. Thu the base of the story is pretty familiar to every action adventure movie fan, Uncharted does have some twists and changes to spice things up, but not match. I could end it here saying that the storyline is bad, but there is something that saves it: the way the story itself is deliver. The story is deliver in two ways, in-game when characters speak with each other, or through a captured movie seances. Both are done very well, with very high production values. The voice acting is excellent, the dialogues are interesting, and the captured animations are second to none int how natural everything is. So, even if its not original, its still a nice story, and the high production values will cover that originality lack.

Gameplay:
The game works and acts great. You get the whole adventure themed package here: You get puzzles, platforming, and shooting. The platforming parts are great, the whole environment feels natural and the animations are real so much that you get a sense of wight, and the shooting is nicely done featuring wide range of weapons, a good tight cover system and some of the best AI. The puzzles thou, are not that great. You don't need to put much think at those puzzles, in fact the game solves them for you so you basically just do what you are being told to do, but there are not much parts of puzzling so its not that bad. Aside from the good AI, there is also a surprise in the change of enemies in the last few chapters. I wont spoil it to you, but you should be ready for some intense, and scary action.

Sound & Graphics:
Its rare for me to say the the graphics actually give something to the gameplay element of the game, aside from looking nice, but Uncharted is one of those rare cases. Uncharted obviously looks great, but aside from those sharp edges, detailed textures, and very life-like environment with realistic shadows and shaders, there is the environment and the animation. For the first time in a platforming game, you will actually get the feel of weight and realism. Drake is not perfect; he cant jump very high, he stumbles many time, and feel slow from time to time, and that whats makes it good. The animations are just perfect int his essence, and the environment looks very realistic and alive. The sound on the other hand is not that reach. The sound effects are convincing and nice, and the voice acting is not bad either, but there is a lack of music. It feels like Uncharted music is not really special, and its kinda missing.

Vaule:
In its core its only 10 hours, but it have thropies and in-game extras to keep you busy after you finish the single player. The lack of multiplayer is disapointing.

Uncharted is a great game. If you like Platforming, Shooting, and looking for a good game for the PS3, you have to get Uncharted. Naughty Dog done some great job with Uncharted for the PS3.>

Yup, this is what Naughty Dog, of Crash Bandicoot and Jak & Daxter fame, has been hard at work on and very secretive about of late. And it is paying off. Uncharted is looking spectacular, and was the most-impressive and surprising game on display this week.
