I really hope for this game to be great, but turned out to be another let down.
Single Player:
The single player aspect of the game starts you as a mantel trooper, Shane carpenter, who is a new member of the war. You learn later in the game that he was in college, but dropped out because he was hearing all these bad things, and wondered why his life was worth living if he was hearing about all these bad things in the world, but wasn't going to do anything about it. so he drops out and join the mantel.
You join the mantel, and for a brief moments, your screen go's black and white and flashes 'nectar disruption'. at this point in time, you can see things you normally can't see, such as dead bodies and blood. you eventually start to think that the mantel is wrong, and it isnt good to fight with them, so you quit and join the rebels, who are the opposing team.
One more thing I'll say about the story is that the characters were flat. The mantel troops were big meatheads who wanted nothing more to kill and the rebels wre the peaceful happy guys who just wanted the war to end.
I won't go any further with the plot, and i'll start on the gameplay. When you're playing as the mantel troop, you have nectar, which makes you faster, stronger, and your enemies glow. you can overdose for holding L2 for too long, which makes you spin around, shooting your team mates uncontrollably. While you play for the rebels, you have many more concepts such as nectar grenades and knives, which it hit an enemy, will cause them to overdose. Something I didnt quite understand was why they didnt have those ability's while you were on the mantel, which is another aspect of the bad storytelling. If you get injured enough, you have a tactic called play dead (self explanatory) and gives you an unfair advantage over, mantel, especially in multiplayer. (Talked about further down).
The enemy's arn't too bright, no matter what side your on. When you're on the mantel, you get a sense that the mantel is the superior on of the sides, but when you join the rebels, the mantel seem weak and stupid and unable to kill more then one of your stupid team mates. Which brings me to another point about the A.I., which is that also your team mates arn't very bright. At one point in the game, your team mate dies and i went to heal him, and he ends up doing the exact same thing that caused him to die in the fist place.
Multiplayer:
The multiplayer was kind of hard to talk about because there wasn't a whole lot of people online. But a good thing (or maybe i should say a bad thing) was thre was the option to play with bots. The reason i said bad thing is that the A.I is extremely stupid and even on my first time playing with them i kicked their asses with 35 kills and 9 deaths (Most deaths on purpose).
Playing with real players was more fun. There was deathmatch, team deathmatch, and team assault. I really enjoyedplaying team assault. You were given an objective to complete, and although i didnt play multiplayer a lot i only saw one where you had to move a large vehicle to a certain point and deploy it. This was fun and the most popular game mode, so i didnt get to experience much the other modes (except with the bots).
I recommend this game to a rent as people who think the game sounds interesting because the single player did get boring towards the end and since there's not many people online at once you probably will just want to play the single player thru and try multiplayer for bit.
I may have been too generous with this games score, since i wanted it to be good. The action all in al wasn't that intense (although the nectar weapons and play dead aspect is cool) and the concepts while on the mantel troops arn't that interesting. This game, unfortunately, made me glad i only borrowed it from a buddy and didnt spend the $ on it.

A dreadful PS3 shooter
Truly embarrassing -- I feel for the guys at Free Radical (who made the awesome TimeSplitters games -- but this is a travesty. God-awful graphics, abysmal storytelling and writing, and generally bad shooting gameplay make for a real stinker. This game should've been cancelled before it even came out.

BORING
If you are totally desperate for a shooter you could not do much worse than this disappointing title. With preachy, annoying characters that ramble on about nothing and pointless drug references( Nectar makes you faster? and makes your enemies glowwy, OOO WOW Shiny!) this game took what could have been an interesting premise and smashed us over the head with it. If you are bored with Call of Duty and Halo...wait for something batter. You know, like gears of war 2 or resistance 2.

Sweet, sweet Nectar: Haze hits the PS3!
During the eighties, former First Lady Nancy Reagan pleaded with youngsters to "just say no" to drugs. Twenty years later, Haze flies in the face of Mrs. Reagan's pleas to stay clean with drug-addled gameplay that delivers some genuine thrills. But you needn't grow concerned because this game is far from addictive.
