MARVELOUS
Okay, I've been following people review for Star Ocean (the game was really linear and people were asking for less linear game), and after Radiata Stories which was a linear+sub quest... but people were complaining. Now, it's a FULL NON-LINEAR GAME WITH QUESTS. Anyway, Romancing Saga may not be the best game in graphical ways but it sure have a lot of details and gorgeous colors. Yes, the big head seems a little weird but it change from all the others RPG. Too, the complexity of the battle system don't bother me. Again, people were complaining that Radiata Stories was too simple in the battle system... and now... Arw... ! Anyway, it's like a traditional RPG and it got its style. The voice are beautiful too and the world is very complete. I hope that some of you won't listen to those who always find a trouble in a game because Romancing Saga is very interesting. Anyway, it's up to you to judge it.

Boring... zzzZZZ
Typically, whether a RPG is open-ended or linear, they all have an over laying story line that you end up following one way or another. This has a story line, but nothing to follow. It's just that; a story. You're forced to literally talk to every person you come into contact with just to receive quests just to give you purpose in the game. And sometimes, you're too weak to even begin those quests. If that's not bad enough, the towns are incredibly bland. I could have created better towns and environments myself with RPG Maker 3. Everything looks as if it were put together using a cookie cutter. People in towns LITERALLY look the same. All the men look the same, all the women and children look the same. They don't even change the color combinations! To top that off, there is no collision detection so yourself or other people in town tend to constantly run through each other. Added, the towns are plain and lack atmosphere. There are definitely not any warm fuzzy feelings you get in this game as you would other RPGs. Everything looks exactly the same, so you literally have to use a town map if you plan on finding your way around town. If the graphics aren't bad enough, how about the voice acting that is 60% of the time horrible? To make that matter worse, you can't skip dialog, you're forced to sit and listen through it all before proceeding. If you like generic, plain, boring RPGs that have little to offer (I have yet to discover anything I want to waste hours on achieving), repeatative graphics, or a game that is so uninteresting that you have to force yourself to play it "just to beat it". then this game is for you. If you like a good story line, a sense of direction (this is TOO open ended, almost like playing an MMORPG alone), interesting characters, a sense of purpose in the fantasy world and a game that envelopes you, then this game is definitely not for you.
