I am a big fan of bball games and the most important thing to me is realism. So when I see Dirk averaging ten blocks a game i think something is wrong. The company worked wonders with the All Star Weekend but forgot about the gameplay. Like I said before the blocking is riduclous i agree that not everyone should be able to dunk on eveyone but sometimes you get lucky. You donot have to block it all the time, sometimes there is contact and sometimes the player just misses the dunks so you can mix it up a lot. It will also be nicer if the dunkactions were a little bi nastier. Another thing that ESPN has is smarter A.I. on offense. Never in the game do you see a person cut to the basket or set a off the ball pick so a player can get open and that is the fundamentals of the game that you need to have. The players need to be smarter in fastbreaks esp. when they have numbers. In addition, the passing is horrible, it takes too long to get a pass and it is a little too easy to steal. Also, in the game it is kind of obvious that you try to make games close, like when you are winning by twenty and all of a sudden your oppenent is busting 4 threes in a row and you cant even score. Also, what ESPN has over yall is the presentation, yall presntation is very, very weak, there is no emotion or hustle at all in the game and like i said i like realism. When a player hits a last second shot i would like to see him emotional, a player getting a tech, the bench rowdy, and the crowd into it. Yalls presentation before the game starts, is always the same, the key player is shooting a three (even if it is a center) and the bench takes a seat. Mix it up a bit is my suggestion, don't always have the same outcome before the game and after the game and have some unique matchups if Vince is playing against his cousin it will be cool to bring that up and compare stats.
Good BBall Game but not yet Legendary Status

NBA Live 2005 is a good solid bball game but to me, it has not really improved from the 2004 series. It seems like the team at EA Sports focused more on the NBA All-Star Weekend Feature and left the rest of the rest of the game unpolished. First off, the game's difficulty level (superstar) is on point but the game suffers from a weak A.I. system. Never will u see your counterpart play help side defense, block shots, run the fast break, or make a cut. Second, NBA Live 2005 only plays a half court transition game and the NBA is not just all about the halfcourt game, well every team doesnt play a halfcourt game. Maybe every player should have a fastbreak rating on how well they can run the fastbreak. With the games difficulty level high, EA Sports needs to find a balance between running the fastbreak and running the halfcourt game. There should be more 3 on 2's and 2 on 1's with a man trailing with no look passes(or back pass to the man trailing for a dunk). It just seems like every player on the opposing team is able to get back and play D in time resulting from a steal, block shot, etc(Shaq getting back to block a shot off an Allen Iverson steal at halfcourt, come on!!). Third, the computer having the ability to block every shot via any player is ludicrous!! Earl Boykins blocking Yao Ming shot 3 times in a row is absurd. Fourth, I'm glad that EA Sports made NBA Live difficulty to dunk on another opponent/big man but dont have it merely impossible. I believe that players with above average dunking and jumping ratings shall be able to dunk on another player/big man sometimes. There should be a balance with the difficulty of dunking on another opponent/big man and having a reason to get to the basket. Other than the previous afrontmentioned, the graphics and the genetics of the game are on point. The features and dynasty are on point also with the exception of the NBA Draft. Like I said, its a good game, better yet the same game as 2004 but it needs tweaking.
Great Improvement

Well, once again, EA Sports comes out with its NBA Live series, and once again, I was expecting only a few upgrades and a few new dunks. Well, I got that, but much more than I thought. Graphics: First of all, I have no problem with 2005's graphics like everyone else does. I actually think they are pretty good. The faces for most of the players are dead on, and even the secondary players are generated nicely. The courts are still amazing, and they have fixed that crowd problem that 2004 had. But, there are still some problems, like players dunking behind the goal and the like, but you can kinda look pass that. Gameplay: This is the meat of all sports games. Some say that the gameplay hasn't changed that much from 2004, but personally, I think they have. There is a much cleaner flow to the game, and its not just a dunk fest in all the games. The computer actually gives you a good game, I mean, I went undefeated in the entire season with the BULLS in 2004 with the settings on Superstar. The stars play like stars, and the other players, sometimes play like stars. Is it me, or does Eddie House rule this game on Superstar. There are other problems like too many blocked shots. I mean, Melvin Ely should not be able to have 7 blocks against Yao Ming. But overall the game plays wonderfully. All Star Weekend: I really don't have to tell you guys about this mode, im sure everyone has covered enough for me. Just let me say this, its great. Overall: Live 2005 is a great game, and I really can't wait what they add in 2006 to make the game better.
