Fury of the Gods!

God of War is one of those huge, big budget games that just seems to get everything right. It's an epic tale about an angry man hell bent on destroying the petty gods who wronged him. His adventure is filled with intense action, puzzles, epic levels and bosses, and even a few boobs 0_o. lol The story of God of War revolves around Kratos, a Spartan warrior who was saved from the God Ares at the expense of his own will and freedom. The loss of his own will causes him to kill his family by accident. This infuriates Kratos. It is his time to destroy Ares and have his vengeance upon the God of War. The graphics are great stuff for a PS2 game. Textures are nice and clean, environments are huge and detailed, and everything gives you a sense of adventure. The voice acting is great, you can feel the rage in Kratos's voice everytime he speaks. The gods also have a very Godly quality to their voices. The music is a great score that reminds one of a big budget Hollywood take on Greek Mythology. The gameplay is mostly button mashing combat. You have magic abilities at your disposal as well. Their are also some fun, not too hard to figure out puzzles that make for a nice break of combat. Some puzzles really too much o literally split second timing, though. This can be rather frustrating. Overall, God of War is a great action game for fans of the genre and for fans of Greek Mythology. Dig iN!

Kratos returns...

It's payback time! Sick of serving the gods Kratos decides he's had enough. Bigger and more AMAZING than the first, this is by far one of the best games available for the PS2.

GOD OF WAR!!!

I loved playing this game when it came out. I loved the puzzles i loved the way the story kept leading you up to the epic battle! The only negative i guess you can find is that the game is over in under 9 hours. I wish every game lived up to the hype as well as this game did!

Still awsome

God of War is STILL an amazing game. This was towards the end of the PS2 era and I was surprised just how much more they were able to push the system with this game. This and God of War 2 got me excited for the PS3.

Can you say epic?

I borrowed this from a buddy of mine(still need to return it ha) and man, I was blown away. It looks great for a PS2 game and the action never gets old. I love Greek mythology, and this stuff just captivates me. It's so epic...the battles, music, story, Kratos himself, boss fights, it's amazing!

Graphics: Good stuff. It really pushes the PS2 to new levels. The Greek world is completely alive and very detailed. The bosses look amazing, full of detail as if they were in a high budget action film. The cinemas look great too.

Sound: Man I love the music. It's a very well composed soundtrack full of epic film like music and some even retains a classical feel. The voice acting is exceptional as well. All the gods have a that "godly" tone to their voice and you can feel how pissed off Kratos is with every line.

Story: Once again, epic! Kratos is one pissed off guy, and he wants revenge on the God of War who betrayed him and killed his family! It is a story of love, betrayal, and revenge.

Gameplay: Action is great. You gradually learn tons of different combos as the game progresses in which you can use to unleash on your enemies. The gods also give you cool powers like Zeus's Lightning Bolts. The boss battles are a treat. They usually are against some large beast or someone of Greek mythology importance. This is just a big "hollywood" action game at it's best lol.

Overall: My favorite series of all time. Sony hit gold with this one, so don't miss out. It's only $20 or less now too! You have no excuse!
