Mafia - PS2

mafia or not

this is the most pointless game ever made but i like it a little i mean its not bad it just has bad graphics and it is a old game about the mafia.

Mafia - PS2

Good but not great.

This game is kind of a GTA clone that in some way's is a good game and in other way's it just miss's completly. Let me start off by saying the story is what save's this game, I like the old school 20's theme they have got going on here, right down to all of the cop's being Irish (what kind of sterotypin BS is that. . .. . though it was true way back when). It's a classic mobster story and you are thrown right into the middle of it. The grafix in this game seem to be like a watered down version of GTA3. Though the sceenery fit's and the city is wide and vast, they obviously chose to go the route of quanity over quality. There are many differen't car's that also fit the time, I most enjoyed jumping in one of the custom 12 cylender racing car's and burning threw the street's. Though that does bring me to a downfall of the game, there a 4 different time's the city reload's itself during travel threwout. And they are lengthy load time's making you think your PS2 has froze from time to time. But the audio is spot on in this game. From the classic 20's music, to the voice actor's the audio next to the story is where this game come's out a bit. The control's. . . . well they are bassically GTA control's, so they fit the game good. The driving is a bit hard to get used to the car's handling clunky and some hard to steer from time to time. I don't know if I would suggest this game to everyone, if you are a fan of a good Mob story then this game is definatly for you. And if the game intreague's you then it might definatly be somthing you want to look into. But this game is definatly not for everyone the game had potential to be great the developer's just kinda took an off day before the release. Overall a decent game, not whorrible but not great.

Mafia - PS2

not too bad but could have been a lot better

this was pretty much a GTA set in the 30's and done badly. the graphics were pretty sub-par. the sound was ok, fit the 30's theme. control was ok. load times were a bit excessive on occassion. the speed limiter was a nice feature, kept the cops at bay, although you wouldn't catch me doing 60 in RL in those cars if they even could go that fast. it's a renter

Mafia - PS2

Not Enough Gansta

Much like other PC to console ports Mafia is another one of those failed attempts. While I was most hyped by the intro everything falled apart as I started playing the game, it dissapointed me.Why?Maybe the lame graphics, or maybe for the frustrating on-foot missions......maybe everything.Targeting an enemy is almost impossible and frustrating, driving is slow, fog is abundant and pop up is everywhere. While I haven't played the PC version I heard it was MUCH better, but if you have a lame PC(like mine) I suggest not to go for this version, or if you like to, rent it for a weekend....just to see the intro..
