Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance II - PS2

Pros Cons
Just plain fun Repetitive gameplay
Great sequel to an awesome game

This is the sequel to the great Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance. The first one was a great game and this one adds alot more to the series. This is also one of the few action RPGs that are western on the ps2. Its hack and slash and can get kind of repetitive but its not that bad. The story line is top notch just like the first. You actually want to see what happens next and watch the story line progress. Just like in Baldurs Gate 1 you can choose several different characters, each with thier own class and abilities. Each character has its own skill tree where you can customize skills to your liking. This game also introduces weapon and item customization. You can take items apart and use the parts to upgrade your own weapons and armor. This is a very fun and cool apsect. It allows for maximum customization of your character. The controls are just like in the first game, theres barely any differences except for minor ones. The graphics are prettty good. I think the first game looked better but thats just my opinion. Theres ony a small difference I noticed but over all they look the same graphically. This game also has the same top down view, you can zoom in a little closer this time but not much. I would highly recommend this game. I owned it and had many hours of fun playing this game. I never got tired of leveling my character up. If you own a ps2 and need an action RPG fix this is a good pick. Its very expensive used though so shop around first.

Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance II - PS2

Just like the old one

It's just like number 1. there's no storyline and the fighting style hasn't even changed a little bit. Rent before you buy.

Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance II - PS2

Very good game

I bought this game the first day it came out, mainly because I enjoyed the first one especially the 2 player mode. I was not disapointed by this game. First of all the controls are very similar wich made it easy to just start playing the game with out spending alot of time pressing the wrong buttons. Secondly the graphics in this game are much better the attention to detail was very good, especially when you first start the game notice the dirt road with the cart wheel marks all over it. The character selection is much better in this one as well as the fact that the weapons, armor and rings are customizable so you can have the weapons YOU want WHEN you want them. The game play is fairly smooth I have noticed though when you do get further into the game there seems to be a glitch where a brownish line will flutter across your screen for a second. The one thing that kind of disapointed me with the game was the sound there wasn't much new for sounds in the game even alot of the music was taken from the first game I was hoping they'd come up with some better sound. Over all this is a very good game definately worth purchasing.
