Badassery done right

The Jak series has started off with a humble little platformer that stole the hearts of many at its release. I'll admit, I had fun with it, but didn't really enjoy it as much as I did Jak 2. Jak has undergone a makeover. This is one that more or less makes him more badass. He has been tortured and experimented on for a year, and this put a dent in his personality. He is meaner than we're used to, stronger, and cooler as well. The visuals are great this time around, and the game has a lot of intense action waiting for who ever dares lift up a controller. The story is very interesting, and there are many missions that you must under go to earn respect, attain information, get new weapons, and eventually, save the world. You can hi jack vehicles that roam the streets, which is very fun, but make sure you are not seen by any of the Crimson guards, or you'll regret it. Jak has been given an array of dark eco powers, and his combating is great, due to the fact that you can use guns to switch up the action, . The guns are cool, and the missions are intense. Some are very difficult, while others are just plain fun. The characters are all very well described, and the plot has many twists and turns. This is a sequel done right. The game is long, and you will visit many different environments, but basically stay close to one central city. The humor in the game is fun, and isn't out of place. The sound is good as well, with nice music and great voice acting. This game is very, very enjoyable, and you will see yourself collecting items, protecting people, commandering machines, infiltrating fortresses, competing in races, and so much more. I think one of the things that make this game truly great is the variety. The game is never boring, and is a magnificent platformer. Occasionally the camera can get stuck/out of place in certain situations, but I'm just nitpicking here, because I can't really find anything wrong with this superb game.

Jak II

I'll admit, I wasn't a big fan of the original Jak and Daxter. In fact, I can't remember why I even bought this game, but I don't regret it. The gameplay has had a massive over haul. It's basically Jak and Daxter with guns, and sandbox, GTA, gameplay. Personally, I like it better than Grand Theft Auto.

Story: Jak arrives in the future through a portal(reference to the first game I guess) and is arrested. The ccorrupt government does many genetic experiments on him, until Daxter comes and rescues him. These experiments have given Jak the ability to morph into a fierce creature. Jak is pissed and want revenge now!

Graphics: Alot going on. It's a giant futuristic city full of unique people and lots of cool hover cars. The main characters are colorful and amusing. The environments vary quite a bit as well. Their are also ancient temples and beautiful forests to explore.

Sound: Great voice acting. SOme of the characters, like Daxter, have some truly hilarious lines!

Gameplay: Something new: GUNS! Yes, Jak now has guns and it's a blast to use all the different types. And they all have upgrades that make them much more powerful. The combat doesn't grow old and there is still tons of platforming. Even some fun races.

Overall: A great addition to your PS2 library. Worth every penny.

Jak II - PS2

Jak is back. Not as good though.

Jak and Daxter was one of my all time favorite games and I had high hopes for the sequel. This game did not deliver. The original Jak was focused on a simple story with fun bosses and it was family freindly. Not So Family Freindly In this sequel we find Jak in the future where he is now speaking. Not only that but he has added a few curse words to his dictonary. This seems fairly in charictor because of his Dark Eco torture. Now this is just fine but once you get into the story you earn on of the first things I did not expect. A gun. Now instead of just kicking and punching you shot enemys. Not only that but you now have the ability to steal vehicles. All and all Ok, ignoring the fact that this game has taken a complete 360 this game is fun. Running from the guards can be fun but tiring. The enemys have lost there charm that was in the first and the enviroments are not as cheerful.

Worthy game

This was a fun game. It had lots of fun and challenging missions that kept you playing for hours good boss battles. Very nice graphics and control. I think it was the best one out of the Jak series

Jak 2

This game is greatfor people who like shooting, punching, being chased by guards, and enjoy a long game. Many parts of this game are challenging and this game has a not so good health bar. but the game is great.
