mortal kombat old and the soon to be new

now im a big fan of mortal kombat i've played and own every one. no one can tell you more about it then me. but im not about to do that no one wants to read all that. so here it goes it seem that mk can only go up from hear it seems every game the pump out is become a success. as i played decepition i was a little made test your migth and site were gone so i did not think i would like the new ones but they were gerat.and when sholine monks came out i just bougth it to keep up my record but is soon as the miny movie was over me and my ferind went carzy he din't even like mk but after that he was asking to borrow it. no more than 5 seconds of gamplay we were hooked. so now with the upcoming title of mk armagondon i cant wait to play it. thats why i give mk a 4.5 just because i did not like the wait for loading i was pump up and ready and then cooled off waiting to figthso to ed boon and the staff keep it up.

Good story...could have been better

This game has both good points and some not so good points. The story is a compelling tale of two brothers on opposite sides of a species war. You play as each brother during different chapters of the game. If your like me, you can't wait until later in the game when they meet for the first time. Several familiar staples of RPG games make an appearance, including revenge, love triangles, one evil mastermind behind it all, and some predictable plot twists. The world ot the game is mostly areas that are only used for battles unless there is an event to advance the story. It's also a little frustrating when you have to complete an easy objective by traveling from town to town when you must cross several different battle areas, inituating a fight everytime. Battles are turn-based and rely on range when attacking with anything (weapons, magic,etc.). Speaking of story deviations, there are almost no side quests. That's right, you read that right. The side quests you do get can easily be completed during the story. They are mostly just your typical find-the-key-item-and -get-the-special-item type that are not as rewarding as you think. This game has some things going in its favor, but not enough to be slightly more than average.

Arc the Lad is good, but could improve ^.^

I just got this game a few days ago, and I'm satisfied. It's got a unique way of telling the story in chapters with each one focusing on a different grouo- The Deimos and The Humans. I'm only 16 hours into it currently, and I'm hooked. One night I played it until 5am! On the other hand, the sound effects are VERY repetitive, especially when casting spells. Overall, It deserves a 4.5, but watch for the sequal in June 2005!

VERY GOOD

I never played any of the other Arc the Lad games so I guess this would be a non-partail review. I loved everything about this game except for the restricted map movement. The story was intense and interesting. The charaters were well played & gameplay was very good. I hate the "tactics" games, (where u move from box to box), and I thought this would be the same but boy was I wrong. The movement was great and the monster battles keep you thinking and make you concentrate on all your characters, not just the main ones. The back & forth story kept me interested and was well put together.
