Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance - PS2

MGS 2: Substance

This game is another great game in the well known franchise, Metal Gear. It continues as the sequel to what is known to be one of the best games of all time, Metal Gear Solid. This game is very good, but not quite as great as the first one because of one simple, whiny reason: Raiden. This guy is really annoying and it takes a while before you play with Snake. Other than that the graphics are great, the sound is good with great, suspensful music, and the story is fantastic. This game is a great one and is definetly a must have.

big deal

Ok, maybe I missed the bandwagon when this game came out, and that's why I just don't get this whole series. The controls to me are stiff and rigid. The graphics don't impress me either.Who cares. I still feel that this game is very overrated just because Sony fans don't have a lot of these. It's not just this one, I have every game in the series and they suck equally as hard on every system. Not to mention that the lead looks like he just walked out of the Village Peoples 1st album cover. I'll pass.

A much needed upgrade.

If you have read my review on Metal Gear Solid 2, then you will pritty much know how I feel about the bassic game. I will use this review to point out what separate's and make's Substance better from the original MGS2. First off I will start with the Snake Mission's, the game has a new side story that you have the option to play as Solid Snake threw part of the "Big Shell" part of the game. It also elaborate's on the "Tanker" part of the game. As much welcome feature putting you back with the hero we have all come to know and love over these many year's. Another feature that I like is the VR mission's, I remember playing MGS:VRM for PS1 for a long time. And to me it was a nice feature to add to the game. They also have Skateboarding as a mini game, now though it is not as indepth as Tony Hawk. The skateboarding game is enough to give you some fun for a while skating over the "Big Shell" completing different objective's. I just in a way wish they had added more to do with the skateboarding, once you complete it as both character's you are for the most part done. Another noticeable feature they uped the controll's to make it more easily controllable than the first MGS2. Making it easier than solving a rubix cube to snap a guy's neck. Also the first person aiming mode is a nice feature as well. Overall Substance is obviously the more supior of the two version's. Not saying that MGS2 isn't a good game. Just saying if you can get your hand's on a copy of Substance over the Original it might cost some extra cash but don't think twice.

Flawless

Once again, Snake will not let you down. With its great graphics and gameplay, this game is one of the best in its franchise.

Great game!

I love but since I own Sons Of Liberty I am not going to dish out 60 bucks for this game. But I still love this game... Its the best stealth action game ever.
