NCAA College Basketball 2K3

Sega's game is great, I can't wait to see what they do next year.

MM2003 seemed like a good game, but upon reading several reader reviews I chose to purchase NCAA CB2K3. The Stadiums are beautiful, the player sprites look good, and the menu's are decent. The gameplay thus far has been good. I am not happy that they did not give us gameplay sliders. The gameplay is solid. It is not a Fastbreak style game, but I found with good quick passing you could perform a good fastbreak. One complaint: I freakin hate the Freethrow setup, why didn't they give us the option to do it with One Button like on NBA2K3. The Stadiums are gorgeous. The Sound is good, they do have the College Theme Band Songs, but they are played too slow. They need to hire a Good Band to play them, like on NCAA CF2003 from EA Sports. The Crowd is pathetic, bland. When they chant Tar-Heels it sounds as though they recruited the Zombies from the Night of the Living Dead. The Announcers are decent, they do call out the players names (once you assign them). But these guys are NOT D-word Vitale. I don't know why Sega doesn't get Bill Walton, Brad Dougherty or some other competent announcer from the ESPN Stable for these games. Coaches, in Open Dynasty mode they do not let you customize the Coach. What is with that? On MM2003 the coaches carry the same likeness of the real coach, Sega needs to get on board. I understand that you can change this in the Career Dynasty mode, but I have not tried this mode yet. The Players, somebody spent a whole butt-truck load of time putting in numbers, year, height and weight. This is a feature rich, simulation basketball game, with some work it could be Fantastic. I plan on updating this review after playing more games into my season, I had better not be able to beat all of the Top 25 teams with my Diaper Dandies of Carolina the first season on the All- American difficulty level. NBA 2K3 is way too easy, we Solo players need a challenge by the AI.
