College Hoops on PS2
First of all, this game is for those gamers who love high scoring dunkfests. The graphics are the first thing i noticed, and they arent that impressive. The framerate gets sluggish when the action gets intense and the crowd is going wild. The animation in the crowd is nice, but would have been better had it only have been the student section jumping up and down, because thats usually the only fans doing it. That would have helped the framerate as well because of less action on the screen. The sound is great, all the way from team- specific chants to Vitale spouting some of his famous one-liners. The control is NBA Live 2003...period...which is a good thing. The freestyle control is a nice touch that I am pleased was brought into this game from it's NBA counterpart. This years game got what last years game needed...a dynasty mode, but its a memory card hog: 4.4 mb. If u love arcade-style basketball games, this game is for you. Graphics 4.0 Sound 5.0 Control 4.5 Fun Factor 4.5

March Madness 2003
EA Sports would have had to try really hard to make this version of March Madness for PS2 worse than the last. Not only is it better, it's much better. I know what your thinking " well, that's not saying much". No, it isn't, March Madness 2003 is far from perfect, but it's a fun Basketball game. The Dynasty mode is funner than ever, as you try to take your team to greatness in the NCAA Tournament each year. The recruitment while semi-slow pased still manages to be fun enough to keep you playing season after season, trying to grab that Blue Chip player you really want for you team brings you back for more. EA Sports also introduces the MAUI invitational, which while not different from a normal tournament (besides in size) is a really neat add on. You can add the MAUI Invitational to the beginning of the season and try to get a head start on those RPI and Poll standings. While lacking a bit in graphics, the game manages to hold it's own with the other basketball games in the market. In this game you can actually block dunks, the biggest flaw in this though is that blocks are almost too easy to do, which can make for a really fun game actually. There's nothing super special or anything that's going to shock you about this game, it's straight out basketball and fun. And one hell of a time if your playing against another person. The replay value on it goes up as the tourney gets near. Who will this years Cinderalla be? Play March Madness 2003 and you might be!

It's no 2k series, but its a good buy for anyone lookings for a good time. and you can set how your team shoots, rebounds, jumps, blocks, etc...its really cool and the graphics aren't that bad either. i especially like the offseason, thats the most fun of all!
