Best Basketball game by far!

The best basketball I'm played since NBA Jam! Blows every other current BBall game out of the water. The only problem is that they don't have Yao and Amare Stoudemire is bad. If you were going to get a basketball game for XBOX, PS2, or Gamecube (preferably PS2) this is the one to buy!

Before you dismiss this game, make sure YOU PLAY IT FIRST! This game is one of those that although not like NBA2K3 has it's own good things going for it. Such as the freestyle which you can embarass your opponents with all these awesome moves. Also, something that NBA2K3 doesn't have is that top-down slam dunks! NBA Live 2003 is so awesome, you'll be pulling off different dunks and replaying them over and over again! This is the Highlight Film type of game. NBA2K3 is just "another" realistic basketball game. Which means just shooting the ball until someone wins. NBA Live 2003 let's you do so much that you control that game the way YOU WANT IT TO BE! The free soundtrack is awesome too! I have been listening to Fabolous' song ALL DAY! Yeah, you gotta get this game to get that ALL-STAR experience. I promise that you won't regret it.

EA sports embarasses its reputation for sports games with this title

EA boasted about its big franchise mode,all these options that were supposed to make an indepth 1 player experience.As the game starts its got an arcadish style similar to NBA street but alot more toned down,but it seemed like a decent set up to make it fun,The 2 player games gives it some fun factor cause when you play a friend theres no AI to take away from the feeling of a an even mathcup decided on skill.The 1 player mode has three skill levels,Incredibly weak so theres no such thing as losing,Impossible,and More Impossible.The computer hits everything you can't.also EA most definitely made the nets kind of a cheat team which gets so assisted that it makes the game rediculous unless you play in the easiest mode,but on normal (medium) dfficulty you have no shot,I was able to beat one team in about 7 tries in franchise games and already gave up on even using the single player games which is completely useless and damaging to EA's sports reputation.They spent so much time on a good franchoise mode but forgot the fact that if the gameplay sucks the franchise mode has no value.Online play can only be described as god awful,typing messages is far limited from what it was on Madden,you can put in only like a three word sentence and can't even space your words.Plus game shark cheating plagues this game even worse than Madden (which was an enbarassment in itself to EA for not putting a block on gameshark).I will not buy a new game for EA that boasts online play cause unless you like cheating with a gameshark its simply has no value.To many people that suck at te games have to buy gamesharks and ruin the whole online experience for everyone wanting an even match the the computer will not give.You might as well just play the computer if you're going to play online cause the cheating and assissting of game shark is similar to te cheating of the computer AI.EA tried to sell this game on brand name alone and it sucks.

Nice party game, nothing more

This time around, me and a few of my friends popped in Live 2003 and was expecting a fast paced, yet sim oriented game. Well, it was fast paced. Graphics: Is it just me, or do the graphics in Live 2003 stink. These are the ugliest faces I have ever seen, and I have played Madden. For some reason, they look like they smelled something horrible, and couldn't get there faces down. The graphics here are just downright poor. Sound: Well, the sounds were ok, and the commentary was mediocre. I really didn't pay to much attention about the sound because me and my friends were laughing about the graphics. Gameplay: Now this is where things start getting ugly. NBA Live 2003 is a party game. If you are the type of gamer to get this and play a franchise (like myself) then this is not the game for you. The basics of this game is to use your freestyle control half to death until you get close enough to pull off a near impossible dunks (I have had guys to dunk near the free throw line without taking one step, this happens alot). And while im talking about dunks, do they just have about 6 different dunks, I mean, how lazy can you get. Overall: Me and my good friend game came down to him beating me by 3 points, 97-93. All in all, there were about 41 dunks on his part, and most of all my points were on dunks, with the occasional foul. I mean, i had the Nets, and I know they are not the best 3 point team around, but I know someone can make a 3 out of about 17 tries. All in all, NBA Live 2002 was a better game, no joke.
