An overlooked fun FPS
This game ended up not selling as well as hoped. Mostly due to the fact that the game relyed heavily on it's online counter part when PS2 online was just becoming availible. And it suffer's from a weak solo-campain. But the game all around is an overlooked game I personally have put quite a few hour's into. The game for starter's isn't the best looking game out there. The character model's look good but everything else just seem's bassic FPS. The enviroment's though are not heavily detailed, and don't get me wrong they look good. Also let's not forget that the game came out in 02', but the enviroment's are very expansive. Making it fun to go off on side attack's out of no where. The sound is good from weapon fireing to the OST sound good. But there is a lot of repititious vocal's during battle. Thankfull they game is so fast paced you get dragged into the action and you don't really notice it all to much. The controll's in this game are very smooth and responsive. Also easy to grasp and pick up and play standard FPS. But the in game option's make the game not the easiest FPS to grab full hold of. As I stated earlier the game highly rely's on the online gameplay, the solo mission's are more to teach you how the game work's and get your skill's honed for online battle. Online the game become's fun and interesting, with 15+ enviroment's and 5 style's of battle it give's every FPS fan what he/she want's in a game. The only downfall is the lack of team communication, you more have to either do a 2 player online to get real team action going. Or just get into a rythm with people over a time of playing. Making it hard to orgaize attack's and what not. At time's when people are constantly filtering in and out of the battle you are in thing's can end up as just throw yourself in a mass at the enemy. But overall this is a solid fun fighter that I would recomend to anyone who like's FPS, but note you must be able to get online to truly enjoy this game. Being as it's only about 5 buck's now you might want to pick this up and see what you missed.

this game rocks- ^_^
this game is really fun because the AI in this game is really tough... the bots kill u so fast, but once u learn how to play u will be able to kill them, lol. anyway , the graphics r amazing and the control is great, but how do u put it in to third person, u can only shoot in first and run in third, confusing, this game is a must for futuristic fans of shooters. i give this game a 5.0/5.0 theres just two much to do, but after a while it gets boring offline, and r these the only guns... but overall, great game!!...

Kicks A#$
What more do I have to say. You blow people up and you have jetpacks. Instant sucess!! Better than Halo, more intelligent than Turok, and cooler than Quake, this game takes the cake. The only things that mar this game is the lack of communication. But, the taunt and cheer buttons are decent and are better than nothing at all, so I can't complain.

A killer game!
This game seemed to be dull at first but once you figure out how to swich to third person it is awesome. Sound 5. Graphics 4.5. Controls 5. I do admit the campaign is short if not dull. The offline games are pretty fun until you play it for a while. The online action is where it is though. I give it 2 thumbs up.

Great Online Game, but perhaps a little boring offline
As a FPS fan, i love almost all FPS's, and i really enjoyed Tribes on the PC. when i heard about the ps2 version i was overjoyed. An online FPS would rule the world on consols. With games like Red Faction 1 and 2 and both timesplitters, and games to compete with like Halo, Tribes kinda seems like the underdog. However, with decent graphics, massive levels, vehicles on both land and air, decent selection of guns, grenades, and upgrade packs, not to mention the jet packs, this game has a good selection and play factor. if ur fortunate enoggh to have a online adapter and cable internet, it has one of the best replay values around. Although it might lag if you have a dial up modem but that can be expected. The offline mode has a good multiplayer route and it plays alot like Unreal Tournament or Quake 3 Areana. if it had multitap support which it should, it would be a great game to play with a bunch of friends or at a party. Also, online you can play two player slpit screen online with or against each other with 14 other people. Very good times. Also, one thing online play lacks is a keyboard support or if ur one who likes keyboard mouse support over a controller, it lacks those option. It also lacks the ability to talk in anyway shape or form to ur allies or enemies on or off the game screen. It makes up for this however with 5 or so different voice options and postive or negitive options to yell at people while ur playing. The controls handel easy, but take a while to get used to with the jet pack feauture perhaps to some people. One player offline may get repetivtive or boring after a while. Graphics-4.0- Massive levels and good player models, fog cuts score though Sound-4.5- Great sound system, especially with the voices. Control-4.0.- Good Controls, perhaps confusing to some, ships could use better controls. Fun Factor-4.5- Great Online Game, but perhaps a little boring offline.
