Auto Modellista - PS2

Pros Cons
Amazing visuals Unresponsive controls
Great Graphics, Horrible Gameplay.

I love Auto Modellista. The graphics are simply awesome, the customization and cars are great, but here's the part that brings it down one whole star. Handling. It's absolutely terrible! But after a while you get used to it. The gameplay and graphics make up for it. And the announcer is really annoying.

Auto Modellista - PS2

could have been a lot better

first off lemme say if that you don't like sliding around constantly, don't buy or rent this game. i played with the settings till i turned blue and the is no way to keep any car from getting tail happy. graphics are good, 4.5, kinda hard to mess up cel-shaded. sound 3.0. between the upbeat elevator music, the annoying announcer, and the mediocre engine sounds. it's lucky i gave it that. control 3.0. oi, talk about touchy, minor turns make any car start to drift plus rain and dirt tracks make it worse. hit a turn a little too fast and you'll be facing in the wrong direction real quick. but once you get use to it and establish a rythm you'll smoke everything. tip: stick with manual trans, if you use auto, you'll be in the wrong gear coming out of a turn every time. fun factor 3.0 this is one of the oddest physics setups i've ever seen. cars slide in every turn but at the start of the race when you red line it to go, you get a little bit of smoke and the engine bogs with 600hp?!? normally you'd be burning rubber for 3 gears down the front stretch. i gess capcom figured if they had cartoony graphics they might as well have a cartoony physics engine. the best part is that the AI cars don't get sideways too often. this game is more about decorating your garage than actual racing, the career mode is fairly short. i think they spent more time on the garage decoration and the 'email' thing that gives you tips on this that and the other thing that aren't really that useful. all the body mods don't improve anything performance wise, there's no difference between part manufacturers in terms of performance. the career mode is short and easy once you get use to drifting. sure you can customize paint, body style, and make lil stickers to put on your car. whup dee doo. how many other games let you do that.

Exorcist Racer

This is the scariest racer I've ever seen. The cars act like their possessed. They bounce and weave all over the track. I couldn't drive in a straight line and the car spins around faster than Linda Blairs head in the Exorcist. I tried for hours to get the hang of it but nothing worked. I think half the time I was driving sideways. It was like driving in the Ice Capades. It's really too bad because it's such a cool looking cell shaded racer. I would love to see a sequel with more forgiving controls. I don't think the Xbox version is any better. Maybe they should let Sega take a shot at the next one.

Why, Capcom, why?

Let's give credit to Capcom for coming up with the idea of making the first cel-shaded racing game on the market. But, what a BIG letdown this game is! To tell you the truth, I think Pole Position is a far better game in terms of handling. The only fun I had with Auto Modellista was the car customization option. It hooked me! But when you start the race, fun time is over. The sounds are repetitive, especially that annoying voice giving you advice. It sounds like a Sega Saturn game! This game is a great example that graphics only don't make a game. Here's hoping Capcom gets the handling right for AM2, if there's gonna be another!

Auto Modellista - PS2

DON'T mistaken Auto Modellista as a cartoony game.

Well, it is cartoony graphics but don't call it that, it has state of the art cel-shaded graphics! BURN RUBBER...ONLINE! Auto Modellista is a great racer. 3 modes to chose from. 1,Garage life which is 1 player simulation mode. 2, Arcade which is, arcade and last ONLINE!Race against people all over the nation. CEL-SHADED GREATNESS Auto Modellista's graphics are beauitful. It is really good. With also great controls, great sound with a lot of music tracks and a really fun game. There is also a lot of cars to chose from. Mazda,Dodge, Toyota, Ford, Suburu and much more! GRAN TURSIMO OR..AUTO MODELLISTA Well, I'm not saying that Auto Modellista is better than GT3. But this time I am. GT3 is not online and Auto Modellita is. This a game for racer fans everywhere. So get set and BURN RUBBER!!! Graphics:5.0 Cel-Shaded greatness. Beauitful graphics. Sound:4.5 Great sound but the music is good but can be better. Control:4.5 Great control. Fun Factor:5.0 SOOOO fun you wouldn't want to stop playing!
