What do you get when you combine bizarrely cute skateboarders with warped cartoon graphics, and then throw in an alien invasion for good measure? No, it?s not one of the last great games for the Dreamcast, but Koei?s Yanya Caballista: City Skater for the PS2.

Yanya Caballista: City Skater - PS2

A noble concept...

If the screenshots appearing on the box mean anything, then this game was trying to appeal to the Jet Grind crowd. I wanted this game as soon as I saw it, but it turned out a little different from what I expected. There's a skateboard to attach to the controller, and the controller is held sideways, but this doesn't really improve upon the experience. Some jumps and ravines are impossible (for me) to overcome. You have to get used to the timing and play in the controls and movement, starting far enough away, and ollieing early enough. Ollieing involves pushing down on the analog stick, but sometimes the controller thinks you're trying to pop-shove-it.

Warning: Do not even touch this game!

UGH! This game is terrible. I hate it. Ok, i'll give it half a point because the graphics are unique, and they tried somethin new with fingerboard. But the fingerboard falls off easily for me. The sounds make me sick. And I hate the concept of those alien things. Please, i beg you... Don't even look at this game. You might just get sick thinking about it.

It's sad that they make games like this.

Please! I hate this game! The graphics are horrible, and the control is just pitiful. WARNING: DO NOT BUY THIS GAME.

Yanya Caballista: City Skater - PS2

Yes it's a good game

It's not the next Tony Hawk nor is it x games Skateboarding it's more of a cartoony cell shaded arcade type of game,no the graphics aren't the best but their ok. Sound is also ok but not satisfying enough compare to other extreme games. Word of advice don't use the skateboard controller your better off using the d- pad and o and x. I suggest for those who sound interested enough to play it, sould rent the game first it's a fun game that might not be appreciated by Tony Hawk fans.
