Twisted Metal: Black - PS2

Pros Cons
Addictive gameplay
This game saved the series

There are many dark games, but none I've played that bring such evil to the table. You can blast zombies or walk around the Asylum chopping up security guards all day, but none of this pulls you so deep into the minds of so thoroughly disturbed individuals. The very nature of games is to pull you into a different world, this game pulls you into a world of supreme insanity. Take the crazy, cannibalistic Mr.Grimm. He killed and ate his friend in the Vietnam war and made a helmet out of his skull. He enters the contest wishing revenge on the torturer who destroyed his mind. The disturbed Preacher killed a young baby, his parents, and many more people when a demon "possessed" him.
He enters seeking the truth. And for the Twisted Metal vets, Sweet Tooth returns, as an evil mass-murderer who survived the electric chair, who enters the contest to relieve himself of his curse of a burning head. Each story delves deep into the characters mind through messages displayed and the amazing cinemas. Story aside for the moment, the gameplay is perfect, hectic and fast-paced. You will get used to it at a moderate pace. Afterwards you will have to contend with the games sloping difficulty, which gets harder every level. Once you get use to THAT you will zoom through a story in about 2 days.

If a dark and insane world combined with fast pace combat is what you want, then play Black, because you won't find a better combination of the two in any other game.

Twisted Metal: Black - PS2

Good Game but just plain out Weird

When I first played this game, I thought it was really weird because everyone came from a mental hospital. Black was very weird and gothic-like. The game play seemed like it wasn't as good as past Twisted Metals, my favorite was Twisted Metal III(3) for the PS. Black's sound was crazy like Twisted Metal and control is great, I guess you can say this is a pretty good game for back in the day. - Jake The Snake

TMB rule the playstation world and the ps2

I was upset with the psone Twisted Metal games and was kinda of backing out of buying TMB for only $20 since it was a "Greatest Hits" game. I remember playing this game and blown away by the control and the graphics and the story. Twisted Metal had somehow returned the magic that made the original and the sequel but not the third and fourth games golden again. The game brings back old favorites from previous TM's like Warthog, Mr. Grim, Mr. Slam, Thumper, Outlaw, Sweet Tooth, Spector, Minion, Roadkill, etc. The levels are huge and the sound tracks rocks.

Great great game on the system it was made for. Excellent graphics and control with improved gameplay. A must have for any TM fan or for any fan who likes destruction and fun!

Twisted Metal:Black

Wow this game is amazing I literally couldent sleep after playing it.Its sick.It truly deciphers the way a pscho thinks. This was deffinatley the hardest in the TWM series.Just Minion the first boss is hard. Most people would probbably need code for beating it.I liked the end with the warhak cameo as the final boss he had his own game called warhawk.OH and the videos are amazing for each charicter. My pesonal favorites are no face and preaches. There are also charecters to be unlocked.Minions hardest. There is also yellow jacket manslaughter and i cant remeber the others.Dont rent this game first buy it!If this is your first TWM game man your in for a treat!
