The Bouncer - PS2

A Great launch game for the Great PS2

The Bouncer is one of the very few excellent launch titles for the PS2. Squarsoft goes for something a'lil in this game, and pulls off greatly. The graphics are just superb, even in comparison to the second-generation of games out right now. The detail in this game is very good. The clothes moving in the wind, hair moving as the characters move, the life-like movements in the battles, they all look awesome. The sound is done well too. The voice-overs are done very well, and the option to have them speak Japanese is really cool. The sound effects are cool too as you can hear people getting punched, crashing to the floor, and the music fits the action perfectly. The controls are very tight and very easy to learn. There's so much you can do, its not very repeticous at all. Adding all this to the great story and a lot of replay value, and you have yourself one hell of a game.

posted in the wrong category...I am an idiot

The Bouncer is one of the best PS2 games out there. With an excellant story line and a different fighting system it should quench the thrist of any fighting game fan. It is basically (as the back of the box says) an action movie that you can take control of. Many panned this game because it was too short, but it has much replay value to get every single charecter and to learn every move. Also to those who hated this for it being short, how long is Tekken or Soul Calibur? Hmmmmmm... Its a fighting game with some startegy elements. Also the four player fights in multiplayer are perfect for when you have friends over. And the charecter designs were beautiful.

Short But Manages To Keep You Attention

The Bouncer is a unique RPG/adventure/fighting/action game. This game was made to make you feel like you were watching an action movie. That is pretty much what the whole game is, simply sitting and watching cinemas. At certain points during the cinemas an option screen will appear, and depending on whom you chose the story will unravel in that characters direction, and because of this the game has a high replay value. The graphics are outstanding the best I've ever seen! Although because of this the game is unfortunately to short, and leaves the gamer wanting more. The controls are great, smooth sailing. The shortness of the game is the only flaw, or else it would have been great. Although its shortness is disappointing, the game is fun and entertaining and will keep you playing the game regardless. "You can rent it or buy it, either way it will be good"

Get your years supply of "Bouncer"...Pretty on the outside..CHEESY, inside!

What a beautiful game. It had me on the edge of my seat....for the five hours I wasn't playing. Once I was actually in control of my character, I kicked a little bit of bad guy but...AND IT WENT TO ANOTHER CUTSCENE. Ok...breath Adam...breath...Now, I love Squaresoft. If they had a fanclub, I'd join it. I own all recent Final Fantasy games, and I am crapping a brick over FFX, just like everybody else. But I think The Bouncer was Square giving Playstation2 a little kick in the ass to say, "Move along. We got you this far, now sit on your dead arse until January."...But that's just me...Don't get me wrong; I wouldn't have given it a four unless I liked SOMETHING about it. Voice acting and Visuals were pleasing. But the game difficulty and length have something to be desired. I just can't get over the fact--...Ok, just think about this: Normally in a Squaresoft game, the end of The Bouncer would be the BEGINNING of a new twisty-turny path in the RPG. (like a disk-change in a Final Fantasy game). It's almost like Square wanted to strut their stuff FIRST, so competiting game companies don't stand a chance. Yet, it's like rushing on a math test. Chances are, your quality will go down to crapper. This is AnubisCritic, out.
