Onimusha: Warlords - PS2

DEMONS ARE NO MATCH FOR ME

Onimusha is a blend between Resident Evil & Way of the Samurai. You are a samurai who has to kill legions of demons & creatures. The action is smooth & gritty. Cutting open a demon is somewhat satisfying. The graphics are dark & gloomy, but don't look ugly. The series was a big hit, & it all started with this bad boy. Capcom, you've made me proud!

Onimusha: Warlords - PS2

The first.

The first, The greatest. Five starts across the board. No doubt a legend in our time, up in the ranks of games like Resident Evil, and Viewtifull Joe.

Onimusha: Warlords - PS2

uh.....

in the very beginning of this game, i liked it. than a short time later, i didn't. i mean, the fighting is cool. the bosses are bad mofos. the soryline is decent and the graphics are very good. but that's it. this game just doesn't spark my interest. i most likely will never finish this game, or even play part 2 (Samauri Destiny) or 3 (Demon Siege). there may be a slight chance where i will pick up the all out fighting game, Blade Warriors. a slight chance.

Onimusha: Warlords - PS2

resident evil, samurai style

from the second i picked up the controller, and started to play the game, the first thing that went throughmy mind was resident evil.your inventory is similar, and the way the controls are set up are uncannyly alike.altogether, the game was awesome, and it kept me on the edge of my seat.

Onimusha: Warlords - PS2

Part I of a great trilogy.

Onimusha: Warlords is a first-generation PS2 game, one of the best. It takes RE's forumla, sort of, but mixes it heavily in eastern-themes. The RE comparisons can stop right there because this game is pretty far from it. Aside from the pre-rendered backgrounds and control scheme, but we're talking about Capcom, afterall. It's more of an action/adventure game, you use mostly blades, and there's another character you play with at a few parts. What I really liked were the graphics... The opening FMV alone gets you psyched. Nice graphics with a kind of typical plot, though. There are a few suprises here and there, and I think Capcom did a good job. For it's price, it's a good buy. It's not a long game by any means, but it does have it's challenging parts that you'll either love or hate.
