Hearts of Iron III - PC

Pros Cons
  Ugly visuals
  Not enough content
  Doesn't live up to expectations
Why Paradox should be ashamed

Where can i start, from the obvious ploy to omit important units from the previous versions of this game and roll them into sprite packs to be purchased for extra on top of the $40 i just spent to 18 hrs of gameplay having only simulated two months out of the 1936-1948 campaign. On to the ugly visuals of units that I use to enjoy so much in all of the other Paradox titles are gone and dead; i use to enjoy the model's animations but no more. The submarines look like odd gigantic snake beasts that take up the entire english channel with their size. Did they even try to make a good game here. Wow, 14,000 provinces of pure frustration. You know that feeling when your at the Bank and the old lady in front of you is just taking way to much time to find her wallet and then it hits you; this overwhelming feeling of impatience and anxiety like you wanna hip check her the hell out of line and if shes hurt, well too bad. THATS EXACTLY HOW YOU WILL FEEL IF YOU PLAY THIS GAME AS IS.

Paradox has been known for his emphasis on historic strategy games for well over a decade, and arguably its best-received series has been Hearts of Iron - which looks at the Second World War. Now a third installment of that series has been released, with what may seem to be scads of improvements and expanded to be the company's most ambitious game ever.
