Final Fantasy XI - PC

The best MMORPG out there

When gamers were first introduced to the final fantasy series they were blown away by its gameplay and characters. Fast forward to present day and you still see this series in the legendory category of games. The 11th installment looks to keep its gamers coming home. This is square's first MMORPG and its one of the greatest final fantasy experiences ever. Being a massively multiplayer game, this game has a wonderful community. The economics system is great because you as the player can drive it forward. For instance, say if an item at the auction house is worth 400 gil(the game's currency) the next day the same item could be worth 200. It adds a sense of immersion as well there are always thousands of players in and are really nice people that don't mind lending you a hand, which makes you feel part of a much bigger world. The first thing you do in the beginning is create a character, well actually, it would be a better idea to install the game. The race choices are as follows: hume, tarutaru, galka, elvaan, and mithra. Now you have to choose a job for your character, in other games this would be like player class. The choices for jobs are: warrior, monk, white mage, black mage, red mage, and thief. Now you choose a country to start in and then you're ready to go into the big world of Vana'diel. Now you're welcome to Vana'diel by an in engine cutscene. The game will explain the rest such as synthesis and fishing. These are all cool things to do if you get bored of the combat, but it rarely gets boring. It uses the same elements as other ff games but improves and exp;ands upon those ideas. Partying makes the combat really fun, I recommend always having a white mage with you though. Threre are plenty of spells and weapons to guarantee that no two people will look the same. When combat begins, your character will start an auto attack, and keep doing so until you dictate otherwise. Gaphics: 4.5 Sound: 4.0 control: 4.0

Grrrrreataru!

As much as everybody bashes FFXI, there will always be the diehard review... To say the least, FFXI is by far the most flaired up MMORPG on the planet so far, as we all know that Square (Now Square-Enix) has the crown for making thier RPGs to absolutely fantastic. FFXI has difficult written all over it, period. If anything, the developers melded all thier anger, frustration and hate toward the gamer who can cash a FF game in days and made FFXI. Namely, the experience system is designed to make you quit, if you're a sissy, or keep you playing for hours on end. One of the most sought after quests that unlocks the sub-job ability takes a hefty amount of time. For those angry at FFX's lack of map wandering, you'll be pleased to see the most map ever in an FF ever. Personally, FFXI is the test of the hardcore gamer, and finally we're able to strut our powergaming stuff and actually prove it. FFXI is not for socially inept jerks who think they're all that because they killed Ruby and Emerald. This game requires teamwork in later levels (10+), and generally you want to keep a good hunting partner (s) handy and not make too many enemies. RP is somewhat uncommon, but does exist, I being one of the fervent ones... (Cerberus) The audio is mediocre, and the music score isn't as wonderful as the past games. Obviously, the story is involving, because you're making the decisions. There's plenty to do after you get out of your home town and numerous craft skills with keep you spending gil for days and days. To make it short, Square-Enix knows what they were doing, and FFXI is worth it to the players to help recompense for FF-TSW's big bomb. However, this game is NOT for the undetermined, it requires patience... and lots of it.

FFXI = Crap

It sucked, waste of money, got ripped off...so I'm writing this review. it sucks don't buy it. The game is not worth the $13 for every month you play it, also you must pay extra for every character you make.
