Battlefield Vietnam - PC

Pros Cons
Addictive gameplay Braindead computer AI

Awsome game, still playing it.

I'm a big fan of the Battlefield series and recently finished my collection (including Battlefield Heroes). The first PC game I ever got was Battlefield 1942: Deluxe Edition for only $10 at Best Buy. It also came with the other mods of 1942 and BF: Vietnam. I think the game is great because it has the original BF game play. It is addictive from the start, has an awesome multiplayer with servers still running, and it's just plain fun. A few cons are braindead AI because I even took videos of bots just running forwards, then quickly looking back like they stupid. The game is fun with custom difficulty too. I don't have much else to say about this game, but what would be awesome is if EA made an up-to-date version of BF:V for Xbox and PC.

'Nam at it's worse

BF Vietnam, looks like an elaborate mod, but it really isn't, it's one of the best FPS' out there, but not as great as it's WWII counterpart. First off, it's in 'Nam the war that was BLOODY, and killed so many people. The game is great, this time 4 classes, assault, engineer, anti-tank, and scout. Although in BF 1942 everyone looked the same for each class, but in Vietnam, there are two choices for body type and head type for all classes. The weapons are also better than WWII bolt-action rifles and the such, there is the AK-47, M-16, M-60 and much more along with the classic RPG. All classes also have two choices for weapons, like a sniper rifle(and other weapons) or the Type-56 and bouncing betty(along with other weapons) which is good for people that hate the same guns over and over.
The gameplay is the same as all other BF games out there, you get a few amphibious vehicles, a few tanks, some light car or such and planes. With BF Vietnam, they have added the helicopter, along with variants and other type, another good addition to the BF series. Although guerrilla warfare and jungle warfare are encouraged, the maps can seem lonely especially if you are in a giant map, like the Ia Drang Valley. Some maps, like the Ho Chi Minh Trail map are more focused on intense jungle warfare. Some maps are set in cities like Hue and Reclaiming Hue (a more destroyed version of the city unlike Hue-1968). Another issue does once again return in the game, terrible A.I. it seems like the A.I. is much intended for the newbie out there, and might encourage others to play multiplayer. But it would suck if you couldn't play multiplayer and looks like you're stuck with Viet-cong shooting at the water and Americans ramming a Huey in the water.(Other armies are also included in different maps with their unit patches respectively) One cool thing is the sixties music and getting to play some music while cruisin' around in a jeep going to reinforce your guys in the Fall of Lang Vei (only jeep plays music). You can also upload your own music from your Itunes or something using a folder in the BF Vietnam file. Another thing that was disappointing was no aiming down the sights of your gun :(. This was already around at this time. But overall the game is good despite not much people in multiplayer. A little customization in your character, addition of new guns, vehicles, sixties music and the ability to play the radio on a jeep and upload your own tracks. The sad part, stupid A.I. and unbalanced maps and some seem like your lonely.

All in All a Viddy Good Game

Battlefield Vietnam is by far one of the best games I have ever played. I only would have one complaint about it in fact. You need a pretty good computer to fully enjoy it. EA has done things on this problem though. They have made many patches. This though is quite a pain in the ass. The good things about this game though are the online capabilities. Online is the best in this game, I would not even bother with Single Player because thats just for trying to learn. Do not buy this game if you do not like online games. The weapons, vehicles, grpahics, are all stellar. To also truly love this game, download some custom maps or mods. They are truly great. I reccomend this game to anyone, check it out, you will not regret. 50 Dollars well spent I would say.

Battlefield Vietnam - PC

Very fun FPS, but no use buying because Battlefield 2 comes at June 29

This game takes Battlefield series to lush vegitation and tons of great hiding spots. There are 8 kits with all different weapons to try out. In Battlefield 1942 there was a surplus of tanks that always got annoying, this game fixes the tank problem, because they reduce the nubmers of tanks to 0-2 tanks per side. AI are alot smarter and since every time you play is different there is no repition
