Abomination - PC

Yawn...

Zzzzzzzzzz... Oh, sorry. I was taking a really great nap. Usually I don't sleep unless it's night but after playing this, "game", I fell asleep pretty well. Abomination: the Nemesis Project, is about a group of soldier-people who are out to shoot the hell out of alien scum and brain-washed gangbangers. The graphics, while not breath-taking, are actually preety good. The soldiers and alien all look pretty realistic. Then again, It's from a bird's eye view, so, nevermind. The sound is great, unquestionably the best feature in the game. The voices are realistic and the music is very atmospheric. It is pretty damn funny seeing a shotgun totin' hillbillie shooting and saying, "Hey Clem, c'mere. We gots ourselves a deer!" Actually, that's not in the game. That would be cool though. The control is simple. Simple point and click manuevers. Err... It's not necissarily bad, it just could have been more fine toned. But most of all, the game isn't very fun. And the game needs to be fun if you want people to buy it.

  • Jan. 1, 2000 Review: Abomination

One sings, the other doesn't. While Abomination's tactical combat segments are well conceived and invigorating, the strategic element of this real-time suitor for the X-Com crown is disappointingly shallow.
