Another multiplayer classic
Starfox Assault is a game for the Gamecube designed by namco, starnge seeing as most starfox games were made by nintendo themselves, but welcome nontheless. One thing that does need to be understood however is that this game is a massive departure from the series, and many of the series' usual strenths are unfortunately absent, one of the major criticism's leveled towards the game was the weak single-player game, which is a problem with the game, on foot sections never gel completely with the rest of the game and many of the levels feel samey and repetitive, not to say that the single player doesn't have it's fun moments. Where Namco have really shined however is the excellent multiplayer, which is incredible fun, players run about in points style deathmatches, jumping into planes, tanks or fighting on foot, this is a massive improvement over the old multiplayer in the n64 iteration and this is odviously where namco put a lot of their effort. So to finish up, if you are looking for a standard starfox game you may be dissapointed with this game, but in my opinion the multiplayer makes up for it's shortcomings.

fun game
Better than average game. I would recommend the game to anyone that like these types of games. No real changes but new maps. Maybe not the best installment of the game but still fun.

The Star Fox team is back, and GREAT!
This game has been a little hard in Gold Mode for me, but I got the hang of it and I'm lovin' it!!!!! My favorite character's in this game are Wolf O'Donnel, Fox McCloud and Krystal. I play Vs mode with my friends and they beat me all the time!!!

They're back...just not better than ever.
One major improvement over its predecessor, Star Fox Adventures: This one actually has shooting. That's about where it stops. This game is so laughably easy that almost anyone could beat it on the higher difficulty levels. Dying is nigh-impossible and the majority of enemies can be destroyed with what was clearly intended to be your weakest weapon. Flying in this game is nothing like flying in Star Fox 64. Controlling your fighter is comparatively difficult, although again, most enemies go down with a few blaster shots. The game is far too quick. Some players ought to be able to beat this in about two hours, maybe even less. And there's not a whole lot of replayability value: Apart from Xevious, which must be unlocked, it's the same thing throughout: Boring.

Fun, but flawed
Satr Fox Assault is a great game. Unlike Adventure, it returns to its roots with classic arcade-like Arwing sequences. But with new mechanics on ground and in the Landmaster Tank, Assault becomes a throughly original game. Arwing dogfighting is just as good as ever, with rolls, flips, bobmbs, ring health, and lots and lots of laser blasts. You will never titre of this. Ground play is refreshing, with the formidable and destructive landmaster tank and many weapons to use on foot. Single player is a fun mix of these elements, with an interesting story and great missions. At the end of each mission, there is a grading system where you are awarded badges and points based on a combo killing system. The problem with single player is that it is much too short. With only ten missions, I easily beat it in the first weekend I got it. Returning to unlock more badges and points provides some replay value, though not enough. The graphics are good, but not great. The sound is also good, with cool weapon affects, but music becomes repetetive. And you'll want to throw your controller out a window after hearing Slippy ask for help in every single mission. Multiplayer is suprisingly fun, with cool maps and an even larger weapon and mode selection. I cal SFA the "Halo of Gamecube". Though not quite as entertaining, it provides the awesome vehicles and weapons to bring it close.

Star Fox: Assault
After Dinosaur Planet, no one knew where the Star Fox series was headed. At least years E3, Fox McCloud looked abysmal, but after a delay in development, this Star Fox rules the universe.
