If you like RPGs - Snag this one at a Used Game shop while they last
Baten Kaitos is the best RPG I have ever played. The graphics are beautiful. All RPGs should aspire to such scenery. You become anxious to explore new areas simply because you want to see how amazing the next landscape is. On the negative side - the scenes are SO artfully done that it can make the game unnecessarily difficult. For example, every "town" has a store. In some cases however, you cannot even see the entrance. If you are aware ahead of time that the store is definitely there, it should make finding a hidden one easier. The story actually is one of the best that I have come across. One drawback with the story is that it tends to take control of the action... and there's a lot of it! You have to be patient with all of the video clips that they shovel out. They are interesting, but you better not have anywhere to go - you might have to wait half an hour to save. On the same note, there is little freedom in the game. You can complete random sidequests, but there is generally not much to do outside of the main story. In battles, Baten Kaitos has a unique card-based style. You have a certain amount of time to pick your cards - and as you progress, that time shrinks to only a few seconds. This allows you to get comfortable and never really feel like you are in over your head. Another advantage that Baten Kaitos has is that there is very little "leveling up." I have had to retry a few boss battles, but I never had to walk around and level up. As long as you battle enemies as you come across them, you should be prepared for almost any situation. I greatly enjoyed Baten Kaitos. I cannot wait to buy Baten Kaitos Origins to see what improvements were made. I'll let you know how it goes.

Good RPG
This is a fun RPG with an unusual style. The epic story, cool characters. The only thing off is the battle system. Many are turned off by the card battling system. But if you look into it, you'll find a graphically brilliant, interesting game that open RPG gamers will love.

Baten Kaitos
Before I bought Baten Kaitos I didn't think it was very good but I was very wrong. Baten Kaitos is one of the best gamcube. I can wait till Baten Kaitos 2 is released. I am kind of sad because I beat the game I wish the game would continue. I think there should be a movie or show of Baten Kaitos.

Finally another great RPG for the GC!!
Well to make it simple for ya, this game is amazingly beautiful with great lush graphics. The voice acting was definelty something that increased my interest in this game. I gotta admit that this game is quite long, so you better grab a comfortable seat and some mountain dew, because this game is definelty long.

A game which has a bright future
At the beggining, I'd say that the score was varying in my mind during playing this game & I'll explain why. Let's start from the story. It's some how complicated & u won't get it completely till u finish the game entirely. the game play is defferent from other RPG games like FF because u'll depend on the way ur cards were randomed. the music is great. ok, when the game starts u'll be totally lost, & u'll find that the story is very bad & not deep (in this level I gave the game 3.5) after that, the things become more clear tilll the end of the game in which u'll decover the entire story. Graphics:4.0 because the camera is far from player & there isn't FVM Control: 5.0 very easy only A botton & dirction stick Sound: 5.0 great & most of characters are talking Fun factor: 4.5 I think it needs a little of improving & it'll be in level of FF, but it needs alot to be like SKIES OF ARCADIA :)
