Spider-Man: Mysterio's Menace - GBA

Another great Spidey game....

Spider-Man Mysterio's menace is a really cool game, and the only reason that it might not succeed is that it is being released in the midst of so many other great games for Game Boy Advance. On the other hand, this game delivers seven levels of exciting platform action. Buy it.

If only all the Marvel titles were this good

I must say I am very impressed. From the moment you turn on your gba the intro artwork is amazing. At first the controls are a little difficult but a few minutes of practice and you would think you were a spider-clone. The graphics are some of the best on gba, the backgrounds scroll perfectly giving a real sense of movement, the characters while not extremely detailed move very smoothly. The sound is solid too, whith catchy tunes and painful sounding fx. The only thing missing is some voice wisecracks. I also liked the non-linear gameplay and the option to go back and redo levels to collect hidden items. If you like Marvel comics I suggest getting this instead of those mutant idiots.

Hey True Believers,Spider-man for the GBA...

...SUCKS.After forking over the $40.00 for this game, just for my love of all things Spider-man.The game starts off with fantastic opening visuals and pre and post level comic book art work. Then the game starts and it looks like Spider-man is under water.no detail. The background graphics were ok,but it looks like a 3rd grader with bad vision drew a puffy stick figure and colored it in.He looked no better than the GBC version. And the control was stiff. You do not get the sense of webslinging like you do on the console versions. In this version Spider- man doesn't seem to have any super strength. You will web a thug and punch him to death every time since you are weak and your webbing only holds him for a good 2 seconds. Its like they put Steve Erkle in the spider suit and every thug is Jet Li.(no fun)The bosses are the same but they will call in the thugs to make it more cheesey. The game doesn't get harder it just gets more and more cheap.Like the old school game, paperboy. When the cars would slow down until you were in front of them and then speed up.It is hard enough to keep up with the blurred action when it is just Steve Er -I mean Spidey and Jet Li -I mean a common (super)thug.Three people on screen-if it weren't for the bad guys yelling in defeat and the `you just kicked somebody's ass'chime...you wouldn't know what was going on.At least a decent button masher would let you see and understand what the heck it is you are doing while blindly mashing the buttons.I'm a Spidey Fanatic and I couldn't force myself to love it.It is a rental at best.Your Spider sense should warn you to steer clear. wolf26 SEP 22 22:13
