Just Short of the Game I Was Expecting.
Before I start, I really wanted to give this game a 5 star but I just couldn't! It is one of the best DS games ever, IT REALLY IS! I just thought it just fell short of a five star.
In moon the story basically goes like this: It is 2057 and humans have found a hatch that leads deep into the moon and a man named Majoir Kane (played by the player) is caled to explore it but of course it all goes wrong and you are attacked by aliens. So Kane decides to go save the moon.
The gameplay in this game is cool! you control Major Kane as you fight aliens and try to find 3 people that are MIA (missing in action).
The tight controls are make the game solid and easy to play, basically you use the control pad to move, the L button to shoot, and you use the stylus to change your view, look at the map, open doors, and examine stuff.
Plenty of innovative concepts in this game fun to play and doesn't make the game a complete FPS rip-off. Like when you control a droid that can fit into small tunnels and gain access to other parts of the room.
The visuals are TOP-NOTCH for the DS, with full 3D animated cut-scenes and almost Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass gameplay graphics makes playing the game feel creepy when it needs to feel creepy and happy when it needs to feel happy.
With all of that you have to have great action to actually make you play which it does ever more the better than everything it does in this game.
Now, after all the pros you must be thinking why I gave it a 4 star, well, here's why.
The lacking in content makes you always hoping for more but never getting it, with only a little cluster of guns and a few things you can collect to get extra episodes, but after that there's not much more.
The annyoing audio makes the intense action seem kind of sad or toned down in a way so I always turn off the audio when I play.
The Gamepro review gave it a 2 star (WHICH IT DOES NOT DESERVE) and one reason they gave it that is because of the repetitive gameplay, and I have to admit, it does get kinda repetitive sometimes, like the ememies that you face in the game with respawn and respawn until the end (but, it still adds new enemies along the way).
this game didn't live up to my fullest expectations, but it was good enough to get in my Editors Choice games which score are games that score a 4 star of higher.
The game Moon is a game that is insanley fun, it just doesn't get that

Part FPS, part Adventure, All Good
Moon is more a fast paced adventure with lots of gun combat then a true Quake/Doom/Half-life FPS. I think that's a good thing.
Here's what I like
- Works with the platform. Its hard to make a fun FPS on DS but Renegade Kid did it. And the chapter system makes it easy to play for 20 minutes at a time on the bus.
- Lots of action. Yea, its an adventure but there is plenty of gun fighting, plenty of enemies.
- The story is cool, and you bond with the droid (at least I did)
- Easy to play. Learning curve is like 10 minutes. Hard to beat, but at least you feel like you are playing against the enemies, not the game controls.
Weaknesses
- Some of the enemies are reused
- You mostly shoot aliens and robots, so if you want to kill zombies you'll be disappointed (though there is a brief zombie guest appearance)
Summary
If you have a DS and you like action/FPS games pick this up... you'll be glad you did.

Review:
Moon
In the vein of System Shock and Metroid Prime, Moon is a heart-pounding first-person shooter tailor-made for gamers who crave sci-fi adventure. You take on the commanding role of a special space-based task force assigned to a lunar investigation when a mysterious hatch of alien origin is discovered on the moon. In the vein of any great horror film, things take a terrible turn for the worse leaving you as the sole survivor on this ruined expedition.
THE BOTTOM LINE: Moon proves itself as a creepy and innovative portable FPS experience, weighed down by a severe lack of challenge and variety.
