Summary

Game Description

The highly anticipated anime turned feature film has brought us this tie-in racer for the Wii, DS, and PS2. Race as the high-speed machines from the film, including the Mach 5, and enjoy voice acting from the original cast of the film. All of the tracks will provide plenty of lighting-fast twists, turns, and upside-down loops as you put the pedal to the metal and blast your way to the winner's circle.

Another last place racing game

Much like Sonic Riders Zero Gravity, this is a 3-D racer that does not live up to expectations.

The main reason to avoid this game is the braindead AI. The AI never does much right, and when they do, you usually lose. The sound also is a large problem. There is not much to get excited about. Even the multiplayer sucks, and unleashing a car-fu attack on foes makes you feel as dumb as the AI.

If you love the movie, this game just might have some charm to you. The visuals are crisp, and the actual racing itself is fun and addictive. Still, only pick this up if you are a Speed Racer fanatic.

    Despite sounding absolutely ridiculous on paper, there is something fun about "car-fu." And not only that, but when I say "car-fu" I'm talking about the crazy vehicle martial artistry exhibited by insanely fast cars with a set of Jump Jacks and some very agile wheels, i.e. cars from this spring's Wachowski Brothers family flick, Speed Racer. This means that yes, Speed Racer: The Videogame is a movie license game you can buy for your nephew cringe-free.
