Diddy Kong Racing DS - DS

Get Mario Kart

It the same as the old game for the 64 but it got really bad. Some of the characters are gone and worse of all the controls suck. I would not spend money on this. the only good side of he game is the wifi, and it evn sucks.

All right!

good game. the graphics are awesome and it is a very fun game. Its cool to hover over the road. still not as good as Mario Kart but oh well. they ought to put Mario in it. then it would be really fun!

A remake reborn

After buying Diddy Kong Racing, The game seems fun with many customizable options. The player can choose from an assortment of balanced characters, whether it be all out speed, acceleration, braking, or a balance of all 3. Other challenges have been added that take advantage of the Ds's touch screen. Even the Mic plays a small role in voice recording and giving the Hovercraft a boost. What was a downside of this game for me was that it was overly childish. It was expected, but it felt even more generic when it came to the voices being replaced. If you played it on N64, then this one should be a big surprise to you. The d-pad didn't control as badly as I initially thought. In fact, it works quite well. All things considered, it is a game that is fun to pick up and the Wi-Fi matches can be insane. Personally, this is a DS game I recommend.

Remake of Diddy Kong Racing for the DS!

A Remake of Diddy Kong Racing for the DS. Who would have guessed? It's still hard to believe that the original game is actually about 10 years old already. But, is this game better than the original? The game follows in almost the same pattern as the original. You race levels in each of the 5 lobbys, and obtain balloons. Each race has a set number of balloons in order to get in though, so you can't just skip around everywhere. Once you've raced and won all the races in that particular level, you move on to the boss. You race him, and once you've beat him you move on to the Balloon Touch Challenge. This is what's different from the original. Instead of this Balloon Touch Challenge, it used to be a silver coin challenge. However, you can still unlock the silver coin challenge, but you don't need to beat it, to move on in your adventure. I'm not too impressed with this balloon challenge. You basically ride on a magic carpet and pop balloons, and occasionally you might pick up some coins. Then, after you've completed the Balloon Touch Challenge, you race the boss again, which this time he'll be harder. Then you beat him, and then it's your choice to do the trophy challenge, which is when you do all the races back to back in that particular level. And you can also open up a secret door to create your own level. Or you can race the boss again, doing a particular Touch challenge. Sounds pretty fun? Well, one thing is fun. Upgrading your vehicles. In this racing game, you use a car, hovercraft, and plane. However, theres only one downfall: the controls for plane and hovercraft. Sometimes when you're driving in plane, you move the control pad a tad, and you don't turn much, then you move it all the way, and you crash into the wall. Hovercraft on the other hand.... is just too hard to explain, let's just say, that it's bad. But, the good news is that it is possible to get used to them, it takes time, but after a while, you get used to them. And, besides, who said the computers are geniuses at them anyways? The games online system is very fun, mostly because it makes you want to upgrade your vehicle. Seeing other players speed across your face, tells you, that you need to do better. So, that's when the game becomes addicting. So, should you buy this game? Well, if you enjoy the original, then it is worth getting this version for various updates, but if you usually don't like games, such as mario kart, then this game probably isn't for you.

Diddy Kong Racing DS - DS

good but not great

this game is no mario kart but its ok.the game is alot involves more skill.the weapons arnt as powerful than mario kart. the adventure mode is great i cant think of how it could be better.the traks are good. the levels change in design alot. there are also 3 differnt machines you can race in; car has good control and speed, plane hard to control but fun to race in, and hovercraft very hard to control and takes time to get used to.you can also buy upgrades and extra tracks with the coins you collect.the touch screen controls suck the only time you use it is at the beginig of the race you have to rub the screen to get a boost and then go into the race.but the best part of the game is the multiplayer.the download play lets you race in allthe tracks the wi fi is great to. overall its a good game and i would pick it up for the multiplayer Demyx

DS fans have been waiting patiently for another "smash hit" character racing game to arrive, so when Rare's Diddy Kong Racing was announced for the Nintendo DS, we thought it would be a great addition to our carefully built DS library. Oh, how wrong we were! At least, how wrong we were to believe that Diddy Kong DS could even begin to measure up to Mario Kart DS's trail of victory.
