Better than the original

Nintendo finally remakes Super Mario 64 after almost 10 years. But is the remake as good as the original?

PAINTING POWER
In this game, you enter most of the levels by jumping through paintings. That is one of the really innovative ideas that this game has. That is a really cool way to enter levels.

HOPPING FROM LEVEL TO LEVEL
What does that even mean, you might ask yourself. Doing backflips and jumps to access secret areas and levels, which is a cool idea that some other Mario games don't have.

CLOGGED PIPES
There are a few small problems with this game, however. Sometimes you will get a little tired of the camera occasionaly moving into bad places. Sometimes the touch screen controls are a little strange and hard to get used to. These are, after all, small problems and DO NOT ruin the game.

STILL THE SAME STORY
The story is a little strange as well, but honestly, who a dang? The game is almost better than the original with extra levels thrown into the mix. THIS GAME ROCKS!!!

Ah, remakes. Especially when a touch screen is added.

Super Mario 64 is an awesome game. If anyone disagrees, chances are you need a brain surgery. But hey, some things were missing like... Yoshi or Mario's brother. However, the only system this would exist for the time being that would take the chance would be the DS. However, the touch screen proves to be flawed. The game is the same. However, you start as Yoshi, which I find extremely crazy because it's Super Mario 64 DS, and apparantly Yoshi being first to be played as is downright rediculous. So tyou start as Yoshi, greeted by a Lakitu like before, but the castle doors are locked. So you have to chase the rabbit and get the key, and then get into the castle. Now...I find that cruel because chasing rabbits proved challenging, and the fact you have to use a tedious touch screen would just prove to be an annoyance. Now the graphics are upgraded, good for a DS game. The sound is the same, but the controls is not ignored, and takes away Mario 64 magic. I mean, you have to hold a button to run?! I know there's areas in the game where you have to be careful while running, but what do you do must of the time? Run. The addition of multiplayer minigames is nice, and adds a bit more fun to the game.Super Mario 64 was a great game foe the time being(good for a launch title if I were to say in another way), but due to so many games that are incredibly fun now like Legend of Zelda Phantom Hourglass or Mario Kart DS, it would be better if you gave this game a pass.

Super Mario 64 DS - DS

This is better than 64.

I like this game.Amazingly it has better graphics than the Nintendo 64.I was a little mad about the controlls. There are some control glitches. It has a great sound and graphics. The stupid part is that you catch those dumb bunnies.I would've rather been Yoshi and ate the bunnies.

Super Mario 64 DS - DS

good buy for the ds

this game is definetly one of the best for the ds, compared to the crap it has. it has all of the same levels as the original on the 64 which i used to play all the time. but it also has new levels added on to it. u would think though that they wouldnt put more different minigames in it than new super mario bros. also catchin bunnys aint the funnest way to unlock them. i caught every stinkin bunny hopin for a cool minigame but all they gave me was crap, even finding n capturing all the glowing bunnies is a waste, they just give u one star, a rip off. this game is really fun, but cause of the minigames n glitches it has, it doesnt make the top.
