Nintendo May Unveil Next Console at Next Year's E3

The next-gen console to have an early start against the PS3?

Nintendo told reporters in Osaka on Thursday that it may unveil its next-generation console at next year's E3. Info surrounding the console, whether it be rumors or actual reports are still murky, with Nintendo president Satoru Iwata commenting at this year's E3 that the successor to the GameCube would create a "gaming revolution", redefining how people play video games.

With a mid-year unveiling, the console could potentially see a Christmas 2005 release in Japan, getting an early start over Sony's PlayStation 3, which won't be due until at least mid-2006.
