Halo Now Out for Mac

Bungie?s classic finally makes it to the Mac.

Although Halo was originally announced as a Macintosh game, the 3D first-person action title ended up as an Xbox exclusive for more than a year before hitting the home computer. Now, thanks to Westlake Interactive the game has been ported to MacOS so everyone out there can enjoy this classic. Enhancements to the MacOS version of the game include:
  • Sixteen player support
  • Visual improvements
  • New vehicles in multiplayer, such as a rocket launcher equipped Warthog, a Banshee, and a new covenant gun turret.
  • New weapons including a flamethrower and a fuel rod gun that players can use to arc plasma bursts toward opponents.
  • New maps
  • Customizable multiplayer games
  • Cross platform multiplayer, enabling PC users to play against Mac users.
The game was released by Destineer's Macintosh unit, MacSoft. The game is scheduled for release in Europe next week.
