The 3 Worst HUDs:

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell

Splinter Cell suffers from many of the issues the Batman games do. There are so many gadgets and options of interacting with the world that it's difficult to communicate to the player what's going on at anyone time.

X-Men: Legends

Many co-op games face the issue of clearly communicating stats to many players on one screen. Though X-Men is a mildly amusing game, it's a chore to keep track of your remaining mutant power and health levels.

Second Life

MMOs have it hard when it comes to HUDs. There's an incredible amount of information to convey to the player and only limited screen space to do it in. Second Life has one of the worst HUDs around. Looking at the gameplay involves a lot of guess work to figure out what's going on in the world.
