Comments: This old girl has proven that games, not high-tech wizardry, are more than enough to win a massive audience...a lesson that Sony shouldn't forget as the company puts its weight behind the tech-laden PlayStation 3. Though the PS2 is in its golden years, it's also lately produced some of the most memorable (and beautiful) games of its career, including God of War II, Resident Evil 4, Final Fantasy XIII, and Odin Sphere.
Its limited online play is still a sticking point, but is reasonably popular among the SOCOM crowd. Though new game releases are few and far between, the PS2 is still worth owning thanks to its immense library of quality games and an affordable price tag. Love it or hate it, the PS2 will likely go down as the most successful video game console of all time.
