These games didn't sell, but got critics raving.

Spiritual predecessor to Heavy Rain, but still a flop. -

Ico PS2 - PS2
Yes, horrible American box art can kill a good game. -

Beyond Good & Evil - PS2
No one bought it, and we may not see any sequels soon. -
4.
Oddworld Stranger's Wrath - Xbox
This third-person shooter ended the odyssey. -
5.
Mario Strikers Charged - Wii
Gamers didn't stick around for this remake, but it rocks. -
6.
Final Fantasy Tactics - PlayStation
FFT started adding things to FF titles other than numbers.

Ico, and Beyond Good and Evil aren't exactly underrated anymore. In fact they are the most mainstream popular "underrated" games of all time. Also, is not Beyond Good and Evil getting a sequel?
Also, Final Fantasy Tactics on the PS1 sold well enough to become a greatest hit. Sure it didn't sell too well at first and became hard to find for a while, but was then re-released. I can think of tons of other PS1 RPGs that sold a lot worse despite their good reviews.
