For the first 2 years of this console war (2006-2007) the 360 has been on top. Sure, the Wii sold more consoles, but more games were bought on the 360. It had such exclusives as Gears of War, Halo 3, Mass Effect, Bioshock, Condemned, PGR 3 & 4, Forza 2, and many more. Not to mention all of the great PC games that made excellent journeys to the 360. It also didn't hurt that the Wii was more of a non-gamers system and the only real competition was a $600 system that had crappy development software, making the 360 versions of games the only real way to play. But now, as we go into '08, Sony's foresight is shining through.

The 360 is dying. In more ways than one. First off, the overheating problem has made many gamers (including me) a little pissed. Microsoft did the right thing by extending the warranty on all systems for 3 years, but most returned systems end up going back a few more times anyway. Secondly, the DVD 9 that is being used is showing it's age. Unreal Tournament 3, for example, won't come out on the 360 for a while because it's hard to fit all of that game on a DVD. The PS3 version is already out because the Blu-ray disc can store an ass-load more. Third, it seems that Microsoft came out of the gates swinging and after 2 years, they are all worn out. Not many exciting exclusives (if any) are coming out in '08. Sony, on the other hand, is prepping MGS4, Killzone 2, and late '07 titles like Rathcet and Clank, as well as Uncharted. And you also have titles you know will make their appearances like Twisted Metal, Jak 4, and God of War 3. And finally, the big games that are coming out on the 360 are all shooters. Now before you say "F*** you and your prefered genre!" my favorite type of games are FPS's. But even then, you have to have variety. My second favorite type of games are platformers, and it seems that only Sony is providing the good ones.

All-in-all, it seems like Sony is walking into the perfect Storm. Sony may be battered and bloody from the first two rounds, but it seems like Microsoft is all out of breath.

And since I know my Wii comment will be the biggest focus on this whole rant let me just say that I have played games since the atari 2600 and have not seen any innovation from the Wii. All I see is a great and ingenious device for all ages, just not a serious gaming machine.

I definetely agree that the PS3 is much more appealing than it once was before due to the good games that are coming out.

trying to give gamers all the BASIC EXPECTED features that Microsoft has set the trend for.
We wont know the era of either of these consoles until the next versions come out. I cant believe you people actually take the time out of your days to post all that crap. You guys must really be scared of something. I couldn't care less about all that you just wrote, LOL. I hope Im posting a response to something because I didn't even read past the first sentence

This should be PS3's year. The only thing that will keep 360 in the front is Gears of War 2. I believe it's coming this year, but it's the only game I am honestly looking forward to.

2008 will be a good year for PS 3 owners. I can't wait to get my hands on some of the great games coming out this year.

this whole blueray crap is really annoying, isn't unreal tournament already out for the PC on DVD format?

i thought 2007 was suppose to be a good year for the PS3.. didn't that bite me in the ass... hardly nothing but delays..

i was playing resistance non-stop for the half of 2007.. once when Heavenly Sword came along.. i was really happy.. then WarHawk.. and i was very glad... and then i got Call of Duty 4.. and then finally Uncharted.. great game.. but over half the year.. i was stuck with resistance... its not bad.. but when your going to say a game is going to launch that month.. you should and not make it be delayed for 2 more months.. i could understand a slight delay.. but my patience runs dry when its over 2 weeks...

2008... i hope to god it is nothing like 2007.. Sony wants to put a dent in their competition.. they have to actually have to try to put a dent in it.. you can't always persuade a customer because it says SONY on it.... they need to release Home, give more information about Sony and Tivo agreement and release that as soon as possible.. release bigger updates that actually do something.. and be creative... and most important GAMES... i mean.. they do have a lot to offer.. its just they are taking to much time on it... hardly any games are coming out from January-March..

but what i'm trying to say.. when they get the advantage.. don't sit and wait you got to do something.. 2008 could be Sony's turn around.. so far they have sold 8.6 million consoles from November 17 2006 to December 31st 2007... and with at least 4 Heavy Hitters.. coming in 2008.. they don't need to wait till the end of the year to release them.. i know it time is a factor in development.. but don't wait till the end of the year to finally ship your games.. i mean.. Hype can't last forever.. and give them a reason why they bought a ps3.. .of course i got mine because of the games..
