And to answer your question.....Super Mario Bros. After all these years, it's still fun, and though it is kind of embarassing for me to admit, I still haven't beaten it to this day.

It's a wonder he hasn't fallen asleep typing a review.

Hmmm, what are you doing up this late Dan? I didn't know you were of us nocturne types.

The shelf life of games tends to be really, really fast. There's a lot of attention for a few months before a game comes out, then for about a week or two after it does, and then you don't hear about it any more. Doesn't mean it's not good--it's just not the hottest thing going after that point.

Case in point, for me: Deus Ex. I gave this game a great review and got through as much as I could for the review, but I was not able to finish it. I have finally taken the time to go back, reinstall it, and dive even deeper. I stand behind my review 100%, and I'm finding that this is one of the best games I think I have ever played. I swear by Half-Life; this is really the next step in FPS evolution, as far as plot development goes.

It's coming out for PS2 later this year, but I would urge folks to get the PC version--I fear something will be lost in the translation. This really is an incredible marriage between RPG and FPS.

What are the good games you've found by backtracking?

Night time is the best time in the 24 hour day. Morning people make me sick.

I wanted to get Tenchu-Stealth Assassins, but I bought other games when it was still fresh in my mind, until eventually I forgot about it completely. One day I was looking at the games, seen that Tenchu had become a greatest hits title, so I picked it up. Very cool game, except for some camra angles. A game I re-discovered was Super Mario 3, I figured I break it out one day when I had nothing to do and fell in love with it all over again.

Dan I think I know what he's talking about. I'm assuming that he didn't read your post, and is talking about the games that he MISSES. Instead of talking about the good games that you find by maybe just looking under your bed, or picking up an old classic, he's talking about how he misses certain features in certain games.

Two games. I had already started playing my PSX when I came across MLH. It was awesome! I didn't play my PSX for about a month. Also, I was looking at the new shiney PSX games, and I decided to look at the cheaper Hit List (The $19.99 games) and I came across this game with a zombie on the front. Now, I don't know if not ever playing the game counts as backtracking, but I did go to the "older" games. It was Resident Evil. I think you guys know the rest of the story.

Friends don't let friends buy Vizio.
