  • I just dont think books are scary....

I dont know why, either. People talk about staying up all night because of a fuckern' book they read earlier that night or somethin.... not me.

I read Stephen King novels often, and while they are a bit creepy, and fucked up but in an interesting way, I have never been scared by one of them (sans IT, because i tried to read it when i was ten and was like "Fuck that!").

Recently, i picked up a Clive Barker book at the library. While some of the contents made me go "holy shit" with their grotesque....ness, it is by no means scary. I'm not judging Clive by one book, but it was the only book they had at my library by him. Are any of his other books scary?

People call him a Master of Horror, ditto Stephen King. Then why aren't they scary??

Oh, and btw, i woke up at fucking 3:33 A.M. this morning because of a dream. I just had seen The Fourth Kind the night before, so it scared the shit out of me (that time is consistently when the aliens abduct people). I actually woke up because of a different dream, so techincally it wasnt the fourth kind's "fault" per se

I like the Cask of Amontillado or however you spell it, nothing else besides shit like The Raven and stuff in school. I could care less .

I'm assuming you were also going to say Stephanie meyer, GetsugaSSJ?

Amontillado is a murder story, not horror. As is most of Poe's work.

I'm not necessarily looking for horror, just stuff i like, but i was just trying out Clive Barker's book (Mister B. Gone if anyone was wonderin) because he's the "master of horror" and i dont mind being freaked out every once in a while.

I'm trying to think of all stephen king booksI've read.

Four past Midnight, Nightmares and Dreamscapes, Dead zone, It (first 200 or so pages probably lol), Tommyknockers, Pet Semetary, Just After Sunset, Carrie, The Green Mile, Firestarter, ,probably one im forgetting, and Cujo. EDIT: Shit, i forgot Insomnia too. Good book.

Probably the most intriguing premise in a story of his i read was "Dolan's Cadillac", although Firestarter and The Green Mile had phenomenal presentation as well.

I really don't see how a book could be scary. I can't even see how a movie can be scary.

Someone recommend me a scary book.
