I'm not a subscriber or even a frequent reader so I don't necessarily know the subtle intricacies of the magazine, but after skimming through my friend's dec. 2009 issue in the back of his car I was pretty astounded. Someone please tell me this was a joke review. I'm worried someone might actually purchase an alienware computer after seeing it.

Thanks

What are you talking about? The write up in the Bonus Level section? Dude, that's not a review. Do you see any score attributed there? That section is a way for us to give you guys a head's up on new tech and gear. Will actually got to mess around with one of those Alienwares and he was incredibly impressed, thus is write up.

I don't know what the issue is. And what's your beef with Alienware? Dont' tell me there's PC fanboys who talk crap about specific manufacturers too!

It's embarrassing that Gamepro would endorse such an awful company. Not only are they completely overpriced, but they have a history of bad business practice.

There's far more that should go into a review of a pre-built computer than just the way it performs. Not taking into consideration the price is pretty laughable.

We weren't talking about the company, we were discussing the actual product. I don't know what your beef with Alienware is but again, it wasn't a review, merely a first hand look at an early product.

That's only if you can't afford it. For those of us that can afford it and aren't into buying parts rolling up our sleeves and putting it together ourselves, we enjoy buying something we can use out of the box, which is why PC gaming isn't as big as it once was. Consoles are behind, but not far enough behind for most to care.
I just bought a 250GB slim. Heck, I could of saved some green upgrading the HD myself in my other one, but I wanted to open the box and plug it in. So what's laughable, the fact that thousands spend their money because they can, or the fact that you don't have that option?

I just looked at it and it's actually pretty sweet. Many PC fanboys have that superiority complex where they always feel the need to tell you what you have just isn't good enough, or that you got a crappy deal, or your an idiot for not thinking the way they do, or buy this brand or this video card.

If it can run the next crop of games coming out that's all that matters. If it looks really cool, well that's a plus in my book.

ignore them.

If I recall correctly the review (or preview) said it had a terabyte of RAM?
