I had a very interesting Biology lab this morning. This is what I learned in school today...
A blind man can be given a 'somewhat ability' to see with only a few devices and no surgery:
- A tiny camera (black and white) is placed around his eyes (think of a pair of glasses that have a small 007-esque camera in one of the joints).
-The camera is connected to a sheet of aluminum that contains charged electrodes.
- The sheet of aluminum is placed on the blind man's tongue.
* This causes the blind man to have a kind of ultra 6th sense. He began to walk around saying, "I'm about to walk through a doorway aren't I? I see a huge rectangle, a desk right? There's a round object at the end of the desk isn't there?"
Amazing. Because all of our senses help us interpret light, the man's tongue was somehow able to make use of the camera images. Technology fucking rules.
So... what did you learn in school today?
