How's it going fellow gamers and friends?
I know in the past year or so, there have been threads made stating that a certain HDTV is the best LCD on the market (especially with the introduction with Samsung's 1.2" LED HDTV). And usually, what would happen is that I would go into the thread and pretty much be a Debbie Downer and say it wasn't the best LCD on the market for the following reasons and yeah sometimes I got a little resistance and other times people agreed with me.
But alas my fellow gamers and friends! The wait for the PERFECT LCD HDTV is over! I present to you:
~*~Samsung 8500 LED-based LCD HDTV series~*~
Why it's the Best?
-> The use of LED Local Dimming Backlight Technology (GamerC knows all about this)
Before, the Samsung LED HDTV used 'Edge-Lit' technology where the backlights were located on the Edge of the Screen which is why some HDTVs had a distracting light effect on the edges of the HDTV. And also had trouble producing deep black levels because the backlights for too far from the source (located on the edges of the screen).
With the use of LED local dimming backlight technology, the backlight is actually throughout the screen (not just at the Edges) and can turn off independently from one another during black scenes; making it the best LED-based LCD to produce the deepest black levels ever (even compared to the Plasma powerhouse Kuro)
-> 120hz/240hz
Along with the capability to adjustable dejudder (a great feature)
-> HDTV Widgets
Make your HDTV your 1 stop source for News, Weather and even games!
-> Best Video Processing (LCD)
Yes, better than Sony's Bravia Engine Processor
In short, this is THE BEST LCD HDTV for gamers (right now) since games are best played on an LCD rather than a Plasma screen.
Samsung 8500 LED-based LCD HDTV Review
I've already started to save money for this bad boy, and yes at the current time its rather expensive but give it about 3 months and we'll start seeing it come down in price dramatically. I hope this has helped some of you prospective HDTV gamers out there to hold off a little longer because the LCD we've been waiting for has arrived and it can only get better from here.
