Let me make it clear that trophies and achievements are not a bad idea. However, I'm starting to think that trophies and achievements can overcome the enjoyment to the main experience of the game. That main experience is immersing oneself into the character inside the game. The distraction comes in when the game notifies you that you earned something. Now, I can understand that a gamer may purposefully ignore these achievements but I'm finding that these come up during important parts of the game.
My question is if trophies/achievements are distracting to you. Do you just ignore them until you complete the game? Do you think trophies/achievements should be disabled (optionally) during the 1st play through? Personally, I think trophies/achievements are useful and fun but only after I experienced the game firsthand and want to add replay value. What about you?
