I thought I'd share some insight with you guys, some in which I'm fully tolerant of criticism but none the less, a simple piece of conception on my behalf. Some people wonder why a game like Zelda is classified as an RPG...or why FPS's and 3PS's are respectively in separate categories. I just think there's a way to dissect games into genres not by face-value but how the game is made.

See to me, the term "genre" is vague and really is a broad way to classify a game. My point is, at least from my own perception it;s not WHAT the game plays but HOW it's played that truly defines the games...genre. In other words, I look at games from a technical stand-point.

I'm the type of person who would put Metriod and Zelda in the same genre. Ninja Gaiden, Halo and Mario...in the same genre...Madden and Street Fighter in the same genre. At the same time, I would put Eternal Sonata, Blue Dragon and Final Fantasy...in the same genre..

Anyways, please share your thoughts. :)

Its good to have FPS, RPG (with the W/J or action/Turn-based pre-fixes), and so forfth. Keeps things simple and effective. Just genre breakers make is a bit complicated.

Your missing my point completely but thanks anyways. :)

I concieve cranominly speaking that genres of gaming undoubtley come from the gainsay of fellow gaming assemblers.

This user is completely without Sig... Sigless. Not at all Siggy wit' it. This is an ex-Sig.

Basically you're saying you categorize more by time consumption than by camera perspectives and common features in a certain games.

Yeah, I don't see your point. At least from the stand-point I brought up. Cause you really don't elaborate what is the technical stand-point.

I;m just going to give it to you as simple as I can. Games like Halo and Mario don't require level up's to complete the game. There will be times where the player is prompted to use certain items to get passed certain checkpoints but not to the point where it becomes a necessity throughout the entire game, whereas games like Metriod and Zelda require the player to use objects that had they not, could get them nowhere.

Yeah, sounds like I answered your point in my first comment. Sounds really retarded, to be perfectly frank. Might as well list them by amount of characters in the game, or by era.

....thank you?... :D

Your Welcome, and ending a statement with an emoticon doesn't do anything. Are you drunk again?

Is this Get's or Zex? Two reasons I've come to this conclusion. Only Get's ask me if I'n drunk and only Zex would argue with me until one of us meets our ultimate doom...then again...only Zex would close with...

Actually, Zex always asks you if you are drunk cause your arguments don't make sense. But referring to myself in the 3rd person is weird.

So...lol...what made you..you know...do what you did? :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D....anyways, glad to see you back. :DDDDDDD
