So even Utah politicians are fed up with Jack.
Ah Jack, your greatest talent: always finding a way to alienate more people from your causes. Good for you.

Yeah, I thought his level of prostitution was banned in 49 states and most of Nevada...
LOL.
Good lord, what do they have to do to that guy to get him to shut up? I think even when he runs totally out of audiences for his bullshit, he'll keep screaming.

A symptom of insanity, if I'm not mistaken.

I'm gonna send PS3thabest to kill him with his awesomeness.
No, they'd blame it on violent video games and he'd become some kind of weird martyr.

Same old same old man.
So when's the next song going to drop?
I don't care one way or the other for the guy. I know that the gaming press tries to whip everyone into a hate frenzy over the guy, but I don't mind there being an opposing voice. That's a part of Democracy. He's allowed to take any stance he wants.
I think he obviously goes about it the wrong way, but I don't mind that an opposing view is out there, and I won't mindlessly hate the man because the gaming media tells me to like a sheep.
Some people would probably murder him if they had the chance because of his views. That would kinda of be proving him right.
I just don't like the extremest styIe hatred shown towards the man that I see in the gaming public.
And you know what, he may be right to some extent on some of the things hes says. Maybe game companies are marketing violent games to children? However, I think he should be going after parents, and not game companies. It's their responsibility to filter such things. If they're not doing their jobs, then why should gaming companies do it for them? There are already laws about selling M-Rated games to kids, but stupid parents don't know any better.
There should never ever be a five year old on Halo 3, or Gears, but dumb*** parents buy it for them.

I agree that he can take a stance, but I have a problem with him taking stances on things out of a desire for self-promotion instead of providing a substantive argument about a topic. A solid voice of dissent on certain aspects of video games, I think, is the National Institute on Media and the Family. I don't always agree with them, but they at least use research to back up their claims.
Jack Thompson has earned his poor reputation in the gaming journalist community through his constant spewing of false information, and frankly, just as much vitriol as he gets. I believe he's also gained a terrible rep because the news media have treated him like he's an expert on violence in games and the gaming community, even though he's just an ambulance chaser who yells about GTA. There's some well-deserved resentment there.
Do I think he should die? Hell no, the man is entitled to his views. But when he's pulled the shit he has, he reaps what he sows.
