My PS3 will not play any discs any more. It happened after playing LBP, the game froze while loading a level so I had to turn it off by holding down the power button. No discs would work after that.

I bought it used from GameStop and I have no more warranty. It's one of those older 80gb versions. I heard that formatting the hard disk might work...

anyways does anyone have any idea how to fix this??? Thanks very much for any suggestions.

yeah that may be it. I called Play N Trade and they said it might be the disc tray or something. $140.00 to replace O_O it would be better than buying a new ps3 though. I hate no BC! if nothing else works i'll try that...

Plus thats what you get for buying a $400-$600 system from a company that couldnt even get a $300 system to play a disc. Sucks to be you.

There's a much higher chance of a 360 breaking than a PS3, so why would I want to do that? A friend of mine is on his 3rd 360 already. The PS3 has what I want so I'm sticking with that.

I bought the system second-hand BTW... which might explain why I'm having problems.

I have been saying for so long that all of you hambones would be burning their PS3's to a crisp with Folding@home, I also said it would start to effect many PS3's around the THIRD year...........

here we go

Being number 3 isn't so bad... yeah right.
