As I am typing this, I see that the 360 nearly has outsold the PS3 2 to 1 according to www.vgchartz.com. Let's revist the previous gen...to date according to Wikipedia, the PS2 has sold 140 million units, GameCube just about 21 million, and the X-Box 24 million which gives this a total of 185 million home console units. This gen of the 360, PS3, and Wii has sold about 68 million total units so assuming that 100 million units is the accurate number since the PS2 is still kicking, that means we are at about the halfway point of this gen.
At this point, the PS3 is probably going to go down as a big disappointment sales-wise but the big question is that is the PS3 still an awesome system? It won't make a difference what system I would have because I'm an EA-addict. I play football games and racing games such as Need For Speed and Burnout so it won't make that big of a difference in what system I get. I have had a PS3 and 360 before so I know what both systems can do and can't do so you don't have to tell me what it can do. Is the PS3 still a worthy system much like the X-Box was after it became obvious that the X-Box wouldn't win the previous gen?
I see that there is the SDF and anti-SDF at play on those boards but all I'm asking is for a honest answer.
