  • Stephen king, the most over rated author in history!

98% of his books suck and this is fact. I saw an episode of family guy where they made fun of him. It was so true. He wrote a book about a haunted spoon. Hes very hackney and overtly political which kills the fun all together.

I watched that movie the myst and all that was cool was the wierd interdimensional creatures and the topsecret military experiment in dimensional travel, which they didnt delve deep enough into for me. It had the crazy white christian woman, how cliche as well and the politics of religion killed it with her being the crazy christian and all.

Then there was the moderm remake of salems lot. The guy was a crazy vietnam vet, wow was that cliche as well. Give it a break king vietnam is long over. We dont need it today. Plus it had all the BS about the afghan war in it which just killed the experience again.

Im not getting into the politics of having that kind of stuff in movies but when I watch amovie I want to be entertained not preached at. I watch movies to get away from that BS.

Plus I know plenty of people who say his books stink. Bram stokers dracula was way better.

Also the movie It sucked. I mean did he even bother working on it or what? It was a fucking clown for christ sakes.

I've actually never read him and I have never had the desire to do so. Maybe one day I will.

He's one of my favorite writers, but if you don't like him you don't like him. One of my favorites is Cujo.

King grew up in the 60s, so it seems logical that a lot of his characters would have a background similar background to his. One thing he does well is illustrate the angst that real people have, such as alcohol dependency, adolescence, aging, grieving, post traumatic stress, fame, etc. His characters have more depth than 99% of other literary characters out there, which makes the stories themselves seem more believeable. Furthermore, the political themes of his novels are relevent, especially by today's standards. For the last eight years we have had a radical neo-con president who has run the country into the ground and made our enemies more bold.

Oh, and It was not a clown, but a shapeshifting monster that had no definite physical form.
